Honda Eye Ferris wheel

Over 25,000 people made the most of the Honda Eye to experience the festival from a new point of view, thanks to the 40 metre high 24 pod Ferris wheel at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Every day of the event saw queues form for the free of charge attraction before the opening time of 9am, with a constant flow of people until last thing on Sunday evening. As a fan of speed, I decided to take my family to the festival in our used Honda Civic in Oxford. Honda's Racing Bug was in the Moving Motor Show areas, where over 2000 visitors had the chance to get behind the wheel of a 300mm long fully branded BTCC Honda Civic replica on Honda's mini race track. The Honda CR-Z MUGEN RR design concept was also involved in the Moving Motor Show. Produced by M-Tec in Japan, the Honda CR-Z MUGEN RR features many prototype parts, with a number made from carbon fibre to add strength and reduce weight. The Honda CR-Z MUGEN featured on the Hillclimb event, taking to the track twice a day. Honda Racing drivers Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden got behind the wheel of the 2011 BTCC Civic. Dave Hodgetts, Managing Director, Honda (UK), commented: "We wanted an innovative presence that gave attendees a whole new experience, one which made Honda stand out. The Honda Eye and the Racing Bug did this perfectly. They both gave guests an opportunity to get involved and enjoy with their friends and family. We aimed to give guests a truly memorable Honda experience – one with the wow factor - and I believe that this was achieved."
