Hotels near Hershey Things to Keep in Mind about Hershey State Park

Staying in one of the hotels near Hershey gives you the opportunity to explore many different fun places, like the zoo and even a garden that's specifically dedicated to butterflies! You can also go on a lot of exciting rides, and visit a great collection of gift shops where you will have an opportunity to purchase name brand merchandise. This includes Hershey's character figurines, which can potentially become valuable collectibles in the future.

If you are traveling with pets, you will need to have them stay behind. Some hotels near Hershey allow pets, so make sure you check before you leave for your trip. At certain times of the year, pets are allowed to stay in a designated area outside of the park. This only applies to dogs. Otherwise, you will have to find a kennel or one of the pet friendly hotels near Hersheypark, like the La Quinta Inn & Suites on Eastbrook Road, while you enjoy your day on the rides. This can often be more challenging than it sounds, so it's a good idea to have this entirely planned out before you leave on your trip. Sometimes, it's better to find a friend or family member that can watch your pet instead.

Don't forget that you will need to bring your own camera with your to the park. Although the hotels near Hershey are close enough that you can drive to pick yours up if you leave it in the room, you won't be able to rent one; disposable cameras are available in some of the gift shops, though. The downside to using a disposable camera is that you can't preview the pictures that you take, so you won't know if they are in focus or not. Walkie-talkies are also recommended, but not provided by the park.

Hershey's Park is very family oriented, and you will not run into very many problems on this front. If you are traveling with young children or an infant, you can rent a stroller when you get the park to minimize the amount of supplies you need to carry with you in the car. Since hotels near Hershey are still a few minutes' drive away, the park does provide an area that allows nursing mothers to nurse in private. There are also plenty of sitting areas on the grounds so that you can allow young children to rest from walking if you aren't going to be using a stroller.
