Do you think you are trapped into a habit pattern to worry and over think about everything?

If so, by now, you may have already tried out various techniques, and made your best efforts to release yourself from this habit. And at times, you may have experienced some relief too during the period of practice, but within no time your mind is back to its old habit of worrying and over thinking.

This is what normally happens with everyone. What could be the reason behind it?
Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan explains, “When you throw a rock in an algae covered pond, the ripples of large circles will displace the algae, but after a while it gets covered up again, the way it was before. It is only when you remove all the algae that the sunlight will reach the bottom of the pond. What will you achieve by removing only a little bit of the algae?”

So, in order to get a long-term or rather a permanent solution to this problem of worrying and over thinking, it is imperative we remove all the algae. How do we do that?Human mind has a tendency to get still in matters that can make us slip, and if we try to make it rise to a higher stage, it gets restless.

The simplest and surest way therefore is to acquire the grace of such a person, who himself has become still and who constantly remains still. This person is Gnani, the Enlightened One!!! He is the one who can help us still our mind and make it stable. Everything starts getting in order thereafter.

Generally, whenever we are in problem, we look towards God for His help because we believe that where there is God, there is no problem. Now, when we happen to meet Gnani, He very simply makes us understand that, “You too are The Supreme Lord. You are God, and so why must you worry?” Yes, our real Self is the Soul that resides within our body, and that verily is God, the Supreme Lord!!

God resides within our body. But we cannot experience Him due to the presence of worries. Experience of God and worrying can never go together. However, Gnani puts a stop to all our worries and helps us realize God i.e. the Self.

Worries and over thinking are a product of the ego of doership. Our false notion of ‘I am so and so and I am the doer’ is called ego and that is what makes us worry. Anyone who believes, “I am running this, I am the one who is making it work, I am doing it, I have to do it” is bound to suffer from worries. But when the Gnani introduces us to the reality that, ‘I am a Soul and it is the law of Nature that governs the entire universe’, we attain Self-Realization (Gnan).

The Self-Realized can never have worries. The actual worrying, over thinking about everything, etc thus stops with Gnani’s grace; and we are able to carry out our daily worldly activities with harmony and peace. At times, during the discharge of karma, the worry that was charged by us in the past life may create suffocation. But as we proceed with subservience to the Gnani Purush and follow His instructions with sincerity, suffocation too will no longer occur and all entanglements within us will diminish.

Gnani does not worry or over think on any occasion, not even when someone insults him. His mind always remains still and He experiences bliss amidst any amount of adverse circumstances of external or internal turmoil.

We too can reach that state. But bliss can never be experienced if there are worries; bliss comes after Gnani Purush untangles all our puzzles. All that we have to do is remain in the company of Gnani with a deep, pure intent from our side to have the entire algae removed, so that the sunlight of the knowledge of the Self can reach the bottom of the pond.

Self-Realization given to us by Gnani is in the form of a sapling that needs to be watered with satsang of Gnani, understanding the path very profoundly. The path of Gnani is totally worry-free. This path provides no scope for our habit of worrying and overthinking to grow further, on this path this habit will only reduce day by day and get eliminated one fine day.

Until you happen to meet the path of Gnani, remember that nothing in this world is worth worrying about, not even for a second. Never succumb to adverse circumstances. Face the entanglements, keep looking for solutions, but do not worry about anything because any kind of circumstances are bound to dissipate with time.

Nature asks us to put forth our best effort in order to accomplish any task, but without worrying about it; because by worrying, our effort gets jolted. The whole world is in grief and misery because people worry and bind karma. You don’t do that. Instead, invest your time in praying that you very soon meet Gnani and receive from Him the Gnan that makes you feel only royal Godhood within.

Author's Bio:

Ambalal M. Patel was a civil contractor by profession. In June 1958, spontaneous Self-Realization occurred within Ambalal M. Patel. From this point on, Ambalal became a Gnani Purush, and the Lord that manifest within him became known as Dada Bhagwan. A Gnani Purush is One who has realized the Self and is able help others do the same. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan used to go from town to town and country-to-country to give satsang (spiritual discourse) and impart the knowledge of the Self, as well as knowledge of harmonious worldly interactions to everyone who came to meet him. This spiritual science, known as Akram Vignan, is the step-less path to Self-realization.
