How can the positivity of a guru or master change the thoughts of a person’s seat in front of him/her?

The speechless gain speech, the cripple climb mountains,
The power of Guru’s grace is extraordinary, the blind gain sight!

Then, how can the positivity of Guru not change the thoughts of a person seated in front of him?!

We are talking about an Enlightened Guru here!
Such a Guru’s grace removes all the obstacles on our path and helps us reach right up to our goal. Guru’s grace is indeed so powerful; there is no doubt about that!

Now, from our side, how do we prepare ourselves to become worthy of this grace?

Guru-Disciple is That of Unconditional Love, Oneness & Total Surrender

“When the Guru and disciple have oneness, then they would both attain salvation”, says Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan, an Enlightened being.

After surrendering, we do not have to do anything else. Just as a child, when born, does not have to do anything whatsoever; similarly, after surrendering to an Enlightened Guru, we too do not have to do anything.

To Whomever We Surrender Our Intellect; We Attain the Energies of That Person

Even if one is an empty tank, when we join it with a full tank, it automatically bears the same level of water. That’s the power of surrender. The surrender ought to be total i.e. of the mind, speech and the body.

When we surrender to our Guru, we attain everything of his! Not only his ocean of positivity, we attain even his bliss! He who has attained moksha himself and who’s set out to give moksha to others, imagine the kind of bliss his is!

Darshan Done with Oneness Dissolves the Ego and Obstinacy

When a person is seated in front of such an enlightened Guru (called Gnani Purush), what does one gain out of such darshan (seeing him / her)?
With that darshan, he will receive everything that the enlightened Guru has!

Param Pujya Dadashri says, “You will receive it automatically, simply by doing darshan. You do not need to do anything else, you will receive it simply through darshan, but what should the darshan be like? It should be darshan with oneness (abhed darshan).”

Param Pujya Dadashri clarifies, “If a person does it just because someone told him to, it’s not considered as darshan. They do it by looking into our eyes. Many immediately surrender to us; it is according to what his inner intent is. Darshan is not just looking (at the Guru). A sudden feeling of joy arises within. Our darshan is when one understands our exact real value. There may be a diamond worth one billion, but as long as one does not understand its value, what is the benefit of that?

If the inner intent of total surrender is not there (in the person seated in front of Guru), there’s no point in that; it is meaningless. It means that one does it to show others. Nevertheless, there is benefit in that too. What kind of benefit is that? His hunger is satisfied, but he does not get any taste. Only his hunger is satisfied.

From the moment you do darshan of the Gnani Purush, attainment of the Self (the Pure Soul within) has begun.
How?

If you simply do darshan one time.

Kaviraj says: If you pay obeisance one time by joining your hands together, even then your ship will sail across [the ocean of worldly life]. Not paying obeisance by prostrating eight parts of the body; if you pay obeisance only by joining your hands together, even then your ship will sail across.

When you fold your hands together in front of a Gnani Purush, it means you have purified the ego of worldly interaction. And when you bow down and touch your forehead to His big toe and do true darshan, it means that you have surrendered the ego. How much of ego is surrendered, that much the work gets accomplished, simply through darshan!
Obstinacies go away simply through darshan. If one sits here with us, then he becomes sensible.”
