How do you get more clients to work with you? By building the ‘know, like and trust factor’.

What does that mean? Well basically it means you are creating a relationship with your potential clients just like you would any relationship.

First they have to get to know you; that means they want to know who you are, where you’ve come from, what you do for fun, what you believe in and so on. And then they can make the decision of whether or not they like you and trust you. Because let’s face it, not everyone is liked by everyone and that’s fine, it is that way for a reason. You are only going to work with people who like you and trust you and vice versa.

So how do you let them know who you are in the on-line world? There are lots of ways to do this, but one of the most powerful and the easiest ways these days is the regular Ezine or Newsletter. This is the simplest way for you to build up rapport with your list.

And the more you share of yourself, warts and all, the better - because the people who bother to read your E-zine are doing so because they are interested in you and what you have to say, so make it worth their while. This doesn’t mean you have to share your most intimate relationship secrets, or bare your soul to the world, but what it does mean is that you are giving your audience, your potential ideal clients, a taste of the real you.

It’s also a good way for you to refine your list, because the people that really aren’t interested in you and/or your services will opt out, and that’s fine. After all, why would you want to be talking to people who aren’t interested – they’re not your ideal clients?

I heard a quote recently that said something like this: “If you are not pissing people off with your message, then you are not being specific enough”. I like that, it means you have a strong message and it will not be for everyone, but it will be for the people you want to work with which is exactly the point. You will be connecting with your ideal clients and they will be getting to know you, like you and trust you. So don’t be afraid to be you and say what you really think and feel - it is the most authentic way of attracting in your ideal clients.

So if you have an E-zine up and running, congratulations, just make sure you are being open and from the heart so that your ideal clients can connect to you and you are building that relationship.

And the most important point to make regards the E-zine is consistency. If you start it make sure you keep it up, your reliability to deliver what you say you will is an important part of the trust factor. Once you say you are sending it out weekly, make sure it is there every week, so if weekly sounds like too much of a challenge, do it every 2 weeks, but make sure it is at least once per month.

And if you don’t have one yet, I really encourage you to get started. It’s not difficult, or expensive and once you get going, it can be fun, really! Don't worry about getting it perfect, just get it done.

I am so pleased I did because I have had lots of lovely comments back and I know I am helping my community and that in turn helps them to help their community. My absolute favourite kind of result, a win-win-win.
