When it comes to cosmetic surgery, the more the precision, the better the results. That said, precision cannot come at the cost of more scarring. Often, more scarring causes greater inhibition since it affects the naturalness that the patient desires. When someone gets plastic surgery, they do not want everyone to be able to tell.

A major place where extra scarring can happen is during skin removal. When a patient undergoes liposuction – the most common cosmetic surgery procedure – they may need skin tightening. However, a less experienced surgeon may interpret this as removal and remove, i.e. excise the skin instead.

This is where a surgeon with the knowledge of PURE contouring helps.

How PURE Contouring Helps

The primary function of PURE contouring is to produce enhanced, natural-looking results. This includes ensuring that you cannot tell that the patient has had plastic surgery. In terms of skin tightening, this is done through the heating tools.

The U and RE in PURE stand for Ultrasound-Assisted and Radiofrequency-Enhanced (RF). When these technologies are used, they produce heat which makes the skin shrink over the new form. This ensures much better results than excision since the fat removal was done in keeping with the body's natural contours. Therefore, when the skin shrinks, it also adheres to the natural contours, making the change in a form which is less obvious.

Why Use Both Ultrasound and Radiofrequency

So, we know that both these technologies use heat. But why do we need two? If one generates heat, isn’t that enough?

The answer is no. One isn’t enough because ultrasound alone cannot provide the desired, enhanced results. Additionally, its heat cannot be regulated. This makes it unsafe in the hands of a surgeon without the necessary expertise.

In contrast, RF has only one job, that is heating. This means it has to provide a method of regulation. Therefore, it is much safer as a method. It can also be used with an infrared camera for greater accuracy.

How does an infrared camera help?

An infrared camera monitors the heat levels of a body through the colour spectrum. The warmer colours are red, and the colder ones are blue. In PURE contouring, it acts as an accurate measure to document the amount of heat being administered.

This way, PURE contouring not only offers more enhanced results but also far safer results than traditional body sculpting methods. This makes it highly desirable to people all over the world!
