Facebook applications can help you integrate your business deeply with targeted customers. To understand how Facebook applications and business ecosystem works, we have to realize the way advertising and selling techniques have changed in the wake of generation Y and booming social media addiction. Earlier, it was DIRECT SELLING – advertisements were loud and clear. There was an existing demand and the product was sold in a way to fill this gap in demand....a simple rule of demand and supply. Now business ecosystem is little twisted – the golden rule of existing demand and products created and supplied to fill in this demand– has taken a backseat. Now advertisements are designed in a way that it first creates a demand (where it was none earlier) and then fill in this type of demand by showcasing their product as a solution. Secondly, advertisement has gone subtle and integrated – and this, as per records is more effective. In the wake of social media ecommerce, this new style of advertising is propagated and Facebook applications plays important role here. Let us understand this with a small example – now your product is a fashion accessory , so you get a application created that asks users to dress up an image of theirs or choose best dressed friend – now a Facebook user who is inclined towards fashion will pick up application ( can be both game or utility) and enjoy – so this person is a prospective buyer for your product – therefore, while the user is busy enjoying and has built a trust for this application, you slowly sneak in your advertisement ....BINGO! Result is effective advertisement for you have the prospective customer targeted.....Isn’t it logically a good strategy?
