A Yahoo News article speculates how war could start from Israel’s attacking of Iranian forces in Syria where Russian forces support their ally. https://www.yahoo.com/news/nuclear-nightmare-war-between-russia-11300032...

The article is speculation. On the other hand, the Bible offers a view of how history may be expected to repeat that is good news.

The first application of Daniel 8 was 200 years after Daniel 8:20 when Alexander the Great conquered the Medes and Persians in the Battle of Arbela in 331 BC, says Richard Ruhling, author on current events and Bible prophecy. He offers the following view.

The Bible claims that God “declares the end from the beginning.” Isaiah 46:10. In the book of beginnings, Genesis 22:13 shows Isaac was spared by a ram sacrifice.

Muslims celebrate that in a yearly ram sacrifice feast called Al-Adha. They claim the son spared by the sacrifice was Ishmael, their ancestor. Which is the true holy book?

The sequel for our time is proving that the Bible is the true holy book because of the vision in Daniel 8, which Christ said to understand, when he was asked re the end of the world, Matthew 24:3,15.

In Daniel’s 8th chapter, a [Muslim] ram pushes north, west and south from the River Ulai--now called the Karun River by Kuwait where US troops deployed against Iraq.

Gabriel told Daniel that his vision was “at the time of the end” and the horns on the ram were the kings of Media and Persia, [Daniel 8:17,20] but those countries are now Iraq and Iran.

The horns were broken by a goat that flies from the west to stomp the ram. The goat from the west was Alexander the Great then, but “in the time of the end,” it is also half fulfilled with the defeat of Saddam in Iraq.

The Bible has amazing details--the goat “touched not the ground” (an air war!) and it “came from the face of the whole earth.” Daniel 8:5. The US coalition included troops from S. America, Canada, Bosnia, Australia, Korea--“the whole earth.”

Why doesn’t the Quran have such details or prophecies if written by a prophet? asks Ruhling who notes that Iran has the fastest growing Christian church in the world, as mosques are losing attendees.. https://www.foxnews.com/faith-values/worlds-fastest-growing-church-women...

Persia is now Iran and our next war will come after Iran leads an attack on Jerusalem, says Ruhling, basing his statement on Zechariah 14:1,2. He believes it will be after the sabbatical year of 2022 for the end-time period of 7 years of the 70th week in Daniel 9 will fit as a unit.

Russia is not seen in Daniel 8. And again, the sacrifice of Iran will be to spare Isaac/Israel because of historic hatred of Ishmael for Isaac, the son of a miraculous birth when Sara was 90 and through whom the Messiah was to come. Genesis 22:18.

Failure to see that Messiah came before the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD (Dan 9:25,26) suggests a parallel rejection to Jewish ancestors who cried, “Crucify him…We have no king but Caesar,” John 19:15.

“We aren’t responsible for their mistakes, says Ruhling who appeals for a better understanding of an impending “time of the end,” Daniel 8:17.
