X-ray technician requires preparing patients for examinations. A person who is looking for higher supervisory and administrative post should go for a bachelor degree post. This can be obtained from a college or university and is a 4 year course. A technical or health school awards an associate degree, a 2 year course which is essential to get selected for receiving voluntary certificate. After the completion of Radiologic technologist course, the voluntary certificate can be obtained too and is actually awarded by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. The certificate programs are for those students who have extensive knowledge in medical sciences, medical assistants, registered nurses, licensed nurses and is of the duration of 12 months. It is during the X- ray technician degree and certification course the basics of human body along with operation of the X-ray machines, pathology and patient safety has to be commanded. For people who are already engaged in patient care facilities, special one year accelerated x-ray technician course is also available. There is also an option of going for an on-line school for x-ray technician education but one should make sure that the programs are accredited by nationally-recognized accrediting organizations. The subjects in all the above mentioned courses include subject such as radiology, anatomy, physiology, radiation physics etc. Apart from these subjects a subject on medical communication or ethics is also present. It is necessary that an X-ray tech should be well versed and should be able to communicate in a specifically good manner and should show good conduct. To smoothly deal with the above mentioned subjects the person must have good basics of biology, basics of chemistry, physics and math. So, go for X-ray tech studies and obtain a good career in field of medical science.
