Applying online for a UK Student Visa can be quite taxing. But with proper planning, you can get your visa processed quickly and easily.
If you are applying for a Student Visa online, you can apply for it only 90 days ahead of your programme start date. Usually, 90 percent of the Visa applications get processed within three weeks. But, if there’s something unusual with your background check, it might take longer.
Apart from the regular procedure, you can also choose ‘Priority Processing’. While it does cost more, it helps move your application to the top. This means there are chances that your application can be approved within five business days.
If you are on a UK Tier 4 (General) Visa (https://www.y-axis.com/visa/uk-student/), you will qualify for National Health Service (NHS) coverage. The cost for NHS would be around £150 per year or £75 for six months or less. Before submitting the application, you will be given a chance to review it. Make sure that you take enough time to review your application. Even the smallest of the errors can lead to rejection of your application or delay in approval. The last step will be to pay your Visa application fees and set up a biometric appointment.
If you have any dependents coming along with you, they will have to fill their own Visa application, pay the processing and NHS fee. By the identification number assigned to you, your dependent’s visa is linked to your Visa, as per The Guardian. So, it is advised that you get your Student visa before working on dependent visas. Along with the application, dependents will also have to show the proof of relationship. The proofs can include a birth certificate or marriage license.
After the biometric appointment, if all goes well, your passport will have the stamp in it. The Home Office will give you the date range during which you can enter the UK.
As per the rules, you can enter the country up to 30 days before your course begins. But, this does not mean that your entry date will be exactly 30 days before the programme start date. Also, make sure that your passport is valid during the entry window stamped on the visa page. It is also safe to ensure that your passport is valid for the next six months after that.
