How To Beat The Project's Deadline

When routine work becomes boring and redundant, the tendency of the employees’ attitude when it comes to beating the deadline is less serious. And there are so many ways to beat this kind of character in order not to cause problem with the company.

“I like it when I have a deadline to beat”, says someone—but not everyone. Deadline of things to be done or work to be accomplished comes as a challenge for anyone who wants to beat the odds of last minute work. I’ve met many people who take things idly before the day set for deadline. And when the deadline comes, they crammed on the work as if they don’t have enough time to finish the task. What comes in the mind of individual why they take work in a less serious note when deadline is not set or deadline is far yet to arrive?

Even though deadlines are set for work accomplishment, many workers especially on the clerical side take the task less seriously since the work is redundant already. The boring task of repeating the same type of work over and over again despite the deadline to meet makes the worker idle and uncooperative days before the deadline is set. That’s why piles of paper works and documents are set on the table. And if you are not familiar with their work you would wonder how they will ever cope up with those piles of work. But you would be amazed that at the last minute of deadline for accomplishment, the piles seems to lessen and office table comes sparklingly clean with documents. That is because they take work less seriously due to the routinely task which they have become familiar of even if they work on it in blindfold.
What are the consequences of this kind of attitude to the company?
80% of work accomplishment has some serious error on it and would likely come back to the employer with note to work again on the task.
Idle hours spent of the worker on the company add to the cost of electricity, supplies, salary, etc. And these costs are indirectly affecting the cost flow of the company.
Stagnant mind set of the worker becomes a liability to the company instead of asset because it no longer functions as contributor to the efficiency of the company.
What possible way can a company bout this work attitude of its employees?
Reshuffling of task that is purely clerical in nature and does not affect the internal control of the company, e.g. filing and submission of documents, encoding, receiving, etc.

Beating the deadline is easy but beating an attitude that does not contribute to the development of the company is difficult. There are so many ways to bout this work attitude, but in the end it’s the employees’ character that will entail whether the deadline is necessary or not.
