Well here are 5 super simple ways of how to change your, and bring a smile back on your face


When feeling down in the dumps then if possible take a nice walk in the countryside, the park or along the canal bank. This will do wonders to giving you an emotional lift.

There’s nothing better than listening to the birds singing, breathing in the fresh smell of the plants and the country air, and seeing the different shades of greenery and colors of the trees and flowers.

Another payoff is that walking is one of the best forms of exercise. There’s obviously a multitude of benefits when engaging in physical activity, but a major one is that it stimulates various brain chemicals like endorphins that make you feel happier and more relaxed.


Music can shift a listener’s state of mind very quickly.

Listening to your favourite music that makes you sing along to, and gets you moving to the tune and beats will have magical effects in transforming the way you feel and act in moments.


Visualization is an effective mental practice that can move you closer to what and where you want to be in life. Visualizing yourself being happy will instantly lift your mood and attitude.

Doing this 5 or 10 minutes every day will also help imprint these happy images in your subconscious mind which will in turn help guide you to find and create situations and circumstances that are similar


The simple act of a smiling or laughing is one of the best and quickest ways to lift your spirits. Smiling and Laughter, like exercising, releases endorphins which are proven to improve your mood.

Watch sitcoms like ‘Only Fools And Horses’ or some of my favorite comedians like Peter Kaye or Freddie Starr guarantees to get me in hysterical fits of laughter


Breathing meditation is an effective exercise that you can do anywhere and at anytime.

Just find a quiet place and sit in a comfortable position either in a traditional crossed-legged position or in a chair, and ensuring you keep your back straight at all times. Now close your eyes and turn all your attention to your breathing.

While breathing in a natural way, become aware of your breath as it enters and leaves your nostrils. Concentrating our attention on our breathing is our object of meditation, which in turn allows us to exclude all other thoughts and external distractions.

Basically, that’s it.

By patiently practicing this technique for 10 to 15 minutes every day you will then develop a sense of inner peace, contentment and relaxation.


Writing in a daily gratitude journal about all the good and pleasurably things in your life will be great to instantly cheer you up. Also reading past inserts in your journal will lift you out of this gloomy, depressing state and thinking in a more positive and vibrant way
