Toenail fungus can affect anyone at any time. It is not an indication that you lack hygiene, or that there is something otherwise wrong with you. It is simply a fungal infection that occurs on your feet, normally on and under the toenail. The earlier you get rid of it, the better. This is because as it spreads, it becomes unsightly. Here are some treatments that are worth considering. Laser Treatment – $195 per toenail This is a modern treatment method that is recognised for being both effective and efficient. One needs to undergo several sessions of laser treatment to see complete healing. This typically takes six months to a year. Unlike almost all of the other treatments, this one will include a little bit of pain. Jubila (Efinaconazole) – 4 ml - $539 For this treatment, you need to apply one drop of the liquid per nail. For an infected big toe, you can put on two drops. With such a small amount in the bottle, you should use this product carefully to avoid waste. A bottle will last approximately three weeks. EmoniNail – 24 ml - $59.95 This is a treatment that has a very high success rating, and it contains Undecylenic Acid as the active ingredient. It also has tea tree oil which is able to penetrate the nail and destroy the fungus from the inside. It is a topical treatment and one bottle will last you for around a month. Zeta Clear – 15 ml - $29.99 This is one of the most effective commercial toenail fungus treatments, which is why it is very popular. It needs to be applied directly to the nail on a daily basis as it is a topical treatment. It is able to penetrate the nail and kill fungus before it grows. Treatment takes between six months and a year. Vicks Vaporub – 6 oz. - $15 This versatile first aid box staple is said to work well on toenail fungal infections. Prepare to use this treatment each day for a period of close to 40 weeks, or until the toenail fungus has cleared. Although it takes a considerable length of time, the results are well worth it. Vinegar Soak – $Varied When you are looking for a home remedy, you can try a vinegar soak. The best vinegar to use is apple cider vinegar. Take one cup and place in a basin of water and then soak for thirty minutes. This needs to be repeated several times a week. It is worth noting that treatment of toenail fungus takes several weeks. Therefore, it is important to factor that in to the choice of treatment you are choosing. When you are looking for the best toenail fungus treatment, you will find that you are spoilt for choice. Make your decision based on what you can afford, and which side effects that you can handle. There is no quick fix treatment for toenail fungus, so prepare to go through the healing period for at least six months.
