How to Clean a Dab Rig

• Isopropyl Alcohol (at least 90% concentration)
• Sea salt or Rock salt
• Resealable zipper bag
• Cotton swabs or a clean cloth

 

Steps to clean a dab rig

Here’s a fantastic way to clean a dab rig. Follow the steps to get cleaning!

 

Step 1: Dump out the dirty water

Firstly, dump out the dirty water from the oil rig. You can then warm some clean water (do not use boiling water) and use the funnel to pour it into the rig. Please make sure that the water is only mildly warm when you use it.

Afterward, use the cleaning caps  to close the mouthpiece and all other openings. You can then shave the water around for 2-3 minutes and pour it out.

 

Step 2: Take the oil rig apart

You could take the dab accessories off and clean them in a different solution if you plan to clean your oil rig effectively since the accessories may need more time to soak and deep clean to be sparkly clean.

 

Step 3: Soak the accessories

Please put all the accessories in the isopropyl alcohol and let them soak for at least 15 minutes. That is more than enough time to get any resin dislodged from them. If there are any other unwanted substances, they will come off as well. If you cannot submerge your rig, you'll want to fill it instead and use caps to plug the mouthpiece and joint.

 

Step 4: Put the dab rig in a resealable zipper bag

Put the dab rig in a resealable zipper bag and fill the bag with enough isopropyl alcohol to submerge the entire piece. The isopropyl alcohol will dissolve the rock-solid resin on the dab rig. You can add a tablespoon or more coarse salt to the zipper bag.

 

Step 5: Soak the dab rig

Zip up the bag carefully, ensuring the solution doesn’t leak out. Shake the bag vigorously so that the salt and alcohol solutions can dislodge resin in hard-to-reach places. As the dab rig soaks, shake the bag as frequently as possible. The bag may have bits of reclaim floating around, making it hard to see the condition of the dab rig. If, by the end of the process, reclaim still remains, feel free to repeat these steps as required.

 

Step 6: Discard & Rinse

Pour out the dirty solution, and rinse it with clean water for at least 3-4 minutes to make your dabbing tool spotless. If any is left, it will remove the dislodged resin and other substances from your rig.

 

Step 7: Dry your dab rig

It's better to ensure that the dab rig is completely dry before you use it again. Usually, the first time you use it after cleaning is a great experience.
