What makes you to say that you're a happy person? What is happiness? If you were to ask your friends these two questions today, I'm absolutely sure that you'll end up getting many answers from them. If I were the one to answer them, then I will answer them from my experience. My practical experience is that I gain true happiness the moment I make up my mind to have feelings of happiness. Do you agree with this?

Everyone wants to be happy. Unfortunately, there are people who have not found true happiness. There are many ways to make someone's life better and this someone could be your friend, your sibling, work colleague or a person you hardly know. What matters most is how you change their lives in a positive way. People will gravitate towards you if you make them to feel better about themselves. By doing this, you make connections with others (you make new friends). The more you help people, the more you're likely to be a happy person.

Happy people are always grateful for the positive things that are done by other people and for the good things that are happening in their lives. Being grateful for things you have acquired and the people around you will bring you happiness. One way that will make you to be a happy person is to work towards having close relationships with your friends, family, work colleagues and other people. Steer clear of negative emotions and people who will only bring you down. Never blame other people but take charge of your decisions and actions. You'll be a happy person if you're responsible and accountable for your decisions and actions.

Remember to be thankful for the things you have acquired and you should never forget to thank the Almighty God. Being thankful for what you have right now and for being alive can go a long way towards helping you to find happiness in your life.

Happy people tend to have a sense of purpose and know exactly what they want. By the way, what is your purpose? If you already know your purpose, are you pursuing it? What do you want to achieve each day? Have you set a goal? Have you written down your goal in such a way that it is Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-bound? If you answered all these questions yes, then you're working towards being a happy person.

There are many positive things that you can do that will bring you happiness. For example, you can sign up for a joke of the day and have jokes delivered to your email. "Laughter is the best medicine." Laughter causes the release of endorphins which gives you a sense of well-being.

Optimism isn't something that all of us naturally possess, but as you've probably noticed, people who are happy tend to be optimistic. You should be optimistic always for you to be a happy person. Try to look for the silver lining in every cloud and make an effort to see the positive side of things which make the impossible to be the possible rather than dwelling on the negative side of things that will never provide you with the solutions. Negative emotions just make the possible to be impossible.
