Before you use sunless tanning products there are steps to take to ensure that your sunless tanning experience is a good one.rnFirst thing is first. Shower or bathe and you want to use an exfoliating body wash to remove any dead skin. You will also need to shave your legs. Rinse thoroughly and let your skin dry completely before applying any sunless tanning lotion.rnIf you want to, you can purchase some rubber gloves to apply the lotion or some people have even used a foam paint roller to apply. If you don’t have gloves and you use your hands, be sure to wash your hands several times in between applications to different parts of your body. For example... apply to your legs; wash your hands. Apply to belly; wash your hands, etc. This will help prevent your hands from becoming stained.rnWhen using sunless tanning lotion, start from the bottom up. Start on the top of your feet, then you can work your way up the leg. Never apply to much at one time. This will cause streaking, blotches, staining, etc. Rub the product in completely, until no longer visible. rnWhen applying the lotion to your knees, ankles, elbows, wrists, be careful to make sure the product is rubbed in completely. Be sure not to leave extra lotion in these areas. These areas are naturally lighter anyway, so if they aren’t the same as the other parts of your body that’s okay.rnMajority of sunless tanning products take anywhere from half hour to an hour to dry. During this time make sure that you don’t wear any tight clothing or sit on anything that can be stained.rnMost sunless tanning products take two to three hours to show the true color, so don’t be quick to reapply. If the color is still to light after 6 hours or so, then go ahead and reapply. For a year around tan, apply sunless tanning lotion once a week. rnIf you have staining on your hands or other parts of your body that you don’t care for try lemon juice, it works sometimes but not a guarantee. It depends on the product.rnHappy Tanning!
