If your ex has walked out on you after a major row, you are devastated and cannot think of living in this world alone.

In your heart you know that your ex has left you never to come back. Is there any hope of getting back together again?
Read the writing on the wall and learn to accept the fact that the relationship is over.

You may love your partner to distraction but if they have let you know in no uncertain terms that they do not love you, it is time to let them go.

How to get over someone who doesn’t love you? The first thing to do is to try and analyze the situation.

How many times in the recent past has your ex walked out on you? How many times have they apologized and done the same thing again?

Has he rebuffed your advances recently and tried to snub you?
Remember that you are better off without him.

Give vent to your feelings -

It is okay to sob your heart out as you feel lost, miserable and so alone. Pour out your thoughts into a diary if you do not have a close confidante or family member you can turn to.

Remember that if you go on and on like a broken record, anyone will tire of hearing the story of rejection and slowly stop lending you their shoulder to cry on. You will feel better once you have let out your bottled emotions.

Block all contact with your ex -

Do not check what your ex is doing on social media sites. Remember that these sites will increase your pain and longing as you will see their photo everyday and feel blue.

It is a good idea to remove their contact numbers and block their sites so that you do not have to check and find out what they are up to or who they are going out with.

Check your conscience -

Was it your fault that this happened? Were you so wrapped up in your own work and interests that you let your ex go astray?

Did he let you know that he could not stand certain quirks and you persisted in annoying him?

Did you expect him to apologize every time for things that he did not do?
If you find that it was your fault he decided to quit, learn from your mistakes.

If you feel that you were not to blame and he was the one to blame for most of the problems, you should be relieved that he is out of your life!

What is your action plan in future?

He or she is not the only one out there. There are many people who are fun to be with, require the right person to jell with and will make you happy if you are the right person.

Be socially active and talk to your friends and seek their company. Try not to be alone with your thoughts. If you require professional help you could seek a counselor or a support group.

Get rid of mementos, gifts and photos -

You need to remove every object that reminds you of your ex. This will help you get on with life on a clean slate. Many people face this situation so you are not the only one.

Do not be in a hurry to get into another relationship. Neither should you date someone who is on the rebound like you as it will not last.

Spend some time taking care of your health, looks and get into fitness routine. Once you know how to get over someone who doesn’t love you, you will be ready for a new commitment.
