There are many products available that can be used for the purpose of making a juice out of wheatgrass. However, not all of them are a good choice. As a matter of fact, the useful ones can be counted on the fingers of a single hand. If you are interested in learning how to juice wheatgrass in the best way possible with minimum waste of enzymes and other valuable nutrients, the following text will prove to be a real eye-opener. Not many people know this but, when you use standard blenders to juice this marvelous plant it becomes useless because the knives of these machines are moving too fast and thus oxidize the most important nutrient this plant is famous for: chlorophyll. The only thing good for juicing wheatgrass is a masticating juicer. These machines are best for extracting juice from wheatgrass because, they spin at low speeds (around 80RPM), which means less heat and oxidation, leaving you with a nutrient and flavor rich drink. If it’s not too much trouble for you, you could use mortar and pestle. Yes, it involves a little extra work but it would be well worth it because it is by far the cheapest and healthiest choice. Now that we’ve established the kind of tools we’re going to use, it is time to shift our attention to the actual process of juicing. How to juice wheatgrass?rnThe process begins with cutting wheatgrass at the height of an inch of the ground using a pair of sharp scissors. After harvesting, the wheatgrass should be rinsed thoroughly to avoid any stubborn dirt or mold leftovers. Now the fresh and clean wheatgrass is ready to be juiced. Put it in the mortar, add some water and use pestle until you’ve got a kind of fine paste. Use a filter of some kind, like a muslin cloth and filter the paste into a cup until you have a bright green juice shot. You can repeat the process a few times. After that you should drink the wheatgrass juice immediately or within an hour after wheatgrass has been juiced. It goes bad fairly quickly so it is best to drink it fresh so that you get all the goodies from it. If you find the taste a little odd and slightly nauseating, add some honey to it with a dash of lemon juice. There you go; you have learned how to juice wheatgrass to your advantage in just a few simple tips.
