There are many issues that can arise when attempting to build a good link marketing campaign. Many companies perform SEO Services but they do not inform clients of everything they plan on doing. In is no uncommon for people to buy SEO Services still thinking of SEO in their brains as basic on-site tasks such as content and meta information changes. The art of Search Engine Optimization has become more complex in the last couple of years.

Link Building has become a very important factor in helping sites achieve good rankings in Google. Due to that many people have skirted the rules and attempt to sell business owners a bill of good so to speak. Since most business professionals are experts at their own professions and not at link building it is very hard for them to tell what they are looking at.

Many times poor link builders will use many pages on the same domain to link to your site. You will see 50 links but really you are only getting real credit for 1 or 2 of these links. They are usually on low authority web sites that the link builder either created themselves or bought. If you are also noticing the same basic design and template this is also an indication that the link builder owns many of the sites themselves. If you are notice a lack of diversity in the links it could mean that the company or person building your links does not understand the importance of link types and distribution. Even worse if the company is asking you to give up space on your site for link “partners” they are either doing link exchanges which are now highly devalued by Google or they are using your site as a host for other clients link building.

It is not as easy as you might think to fix many of these issues once they have been created. What can start out as a 3 month link building campaign could turn into a 3 year campaign to eradicate bad links. Google has recently introduced a disavow tool that makes it easier than ever to eliminate these links in the eyes of Google. Even then Google’s penalties can linger. So it is important from the beginning that a diligent web site owner keep an eye out on the types of links that are being built for their website.

Avoiding these techniques is an essential part of having a positive link campaign. Remembering to look for the two main factors for linking “diversification” and “distribution is important. It will mean a greater return on your investment on your website.
