How To Manage Network Using Windows 7
Written by Harish Sheel
Computer has been become more or less commodities, as I is used in almost every house today and they are multiple in number. The best part about it is these days they have started to come in smaller forms as well. It was a time when a house would have a computer but then things changed and one house had more than one computer, but now one person has more than computing devices. If you have been wondering how you can connect the computer to the others or how to bring them all on one network you should find the answers now.
Step 1
Please make sure you have router connected to one of the computer to start with the home network. Which means please get a router and connect it to one of the computer with the help of ether net cable.
Step 2
Once you have connected the computer with the help of Ethe
et cable please open the computer browser and then follow the setup of the router. The setup will help you to set up the computer so please make sure you make note of the password you set for the router.
Step 3
Once you have the first computer, set up you need to set up the connection on the other computers. First, please set the connection either with the wireless password or with the Ethe
et cable.
Step 4
Now once you have set the home network now you would like to bring them all together on a server so we create a home group. Home group is like a small home network, which you can be used to connect more than one network in to small personal network.
Step 5
Please use the control panel for the same. In Control Panel, you should be able to find Home Group. Once you see home group please click on it and then create a home group. Please make sure you keep an easy name for the home group so that all the other computers can be moved to the same home group.
Step 6
If the other computers are on the same operating system, i.e. Windows 7 Help Support you should just bring them to the same home group and they should recognize each other. However, if you are using the computers of other Operating system such as, Windows Vista or Windows XP please read the below mentioned steps.
Step 7
If you have a windows XP computer please check the name of the Home Group it has assigned to itself. To do that please looks for the icon of my computer and then go to the Properties and then look for the System Properties and then click on the Computer Name tab and then look for the Work Group name and if you want to change it click on the change and then change it to the one you want. If your computer are on the Windows Vista or Windows 7 and you want to change the name of the Work Group please right Click on the Computer and then click on the properties and then look for the look for the Computer Name and then look for the Work Group Setting.
Once all the computers are on the same work group, you should be able to find the other computers on the network.
