How to Play Monopoly Board Game

Some people play the Monopoly board game for fun. Other people play Monopoly to win. It's alright for the people who want to play Monopoly for entertainment and they can be happy simply reading instructions for how to play Monopoly. This advice is meant to teach the competitive Monopoly player how to win. Monopoly Board Game Tips When you land on a property and none of the properties of that color have been bought by anyone, buy the property. If you land on a property and you already own one or two other properties under that color group, buy the property. If you land on a space and buying that property keeps an opponent from collecting all the properties of that color, buy that space. Also, anytime you land on an orange property, buy it regardless. Orange properties are landed on more often than most others (besides red), so your odds are better with these properties. Finally, buy a property if you think it can be useful in a property swap with one of your opponents. Balance Your Check Book Keep track of how much money everybody has. This lets you make informed decisions at various times throughout the game. For instance, you'll know who is likeliest to win an auction. Also keep track of which community chest cards and which chance cards have been picked and used. Buy Your Way out of Jail Early in the game, you want to spend the extra $50 to buy your way out of jail early. You don't want to fool around while your opponents are collecting properties. Later in the game when properties are depleted, jail can be a reprieve. Buying Properties in Monopolies As soon as you control a full color of properties (all three), start buying houses and hotels for that property. This is when it's time to make your move. Of the three properties, starting building first on the most expensive property. Keep Track of Houses, Hotels Monopoly has 12 hotels and 32 houses. Once these are in-play, no one can build anymore. Keep track of how many remain of each and, if one of them is becoming scarce, make certain to be the one who makes it scarcer. Also, if the game is running out of houses and you've wanted to trade in houses for a hotel, don't. This gives your opponents the opportunity to begin a new development, so it's a key mistake in the game. If the ratio of houses favors you, don't trade away that advantage.
