How to remove skin tags?
Written by mario cora
The thought of skin tags, or cutaneous projections on the skin, might sound a bit horrendous to some.
Having skin tags has caused discomfort and embarrassment to some people. The need to have these skin tags removed becomes stronger when they appear in visible parts of the body, especially the face. Even if they are not painful, these benign lesions are very distracting and mar the skin. Therefore, people find it important to know how to remove skin tags. If these benign lesions appear around the underarm area, shirts with full sleeves may cause a lot of discomfort. If the skin tags constantly rub against fabric, the discomfort could turn into pain.
Here is how you can remove skin tags using tea tree oil.
First, make sure the region is clean by washing it thoroughly. Moreover, it has to be kept dry. Thus you need not perform this process, as soon as you take bath. Prepare some sterile cotton, medical tape and, of course, tea tree oil. Put a few drops of pure unadulterated tea tree oil on the cotton and rub it against the areas with skin tags. Using the medical tape, tape the region with cotton soaked with tea tree oil. The effect of the treatment will better in this way. Do this again after several hours. Do this several times during the day. This is done till the skin tag gets loose and falls off from the skin. There will be less stinging or pain if it drops off on its own accord.
There is also a way to remove skin tags using duct tapes.
Cut pieces of duct tape into squares of equal sizes. The skin tags will be covered using these squares. When you feel the skin tag loosening, slowly peel off the duct tape. It might bleed if you are not too careful when peeling it off. You may need to wait two or three days before the tape starts to loosen. Cover the area with bandage for at least one day. You can expect to feel some soreness around the area that will last for one or two days.
Is there a way to remove skin tags at home? You need only simple tools to accomplish this. It would be really handy if you have one of those manicure type of scissors. If you cut at the stalk region, removing the skin tag will be relatively easier. This is, of course, applicable only in the case of thin stalks. You cannot use scissors on stalks that are very thick, because they are bound to be very painful. You would need to consult a dermatologist for this. There are also special antibiotics for these problems, and they come in ointment form. If you have gauze and alcohol, this can also be kept near the site of skin tag removal. There might be a case of excessive bleeding in some people. The gauze would be handy in stopping the bleeding. Before using the scissors, it is good to sterilize them using alcohol. These items must be acquired before you start removing the tags.
