Healing from an abusive relationship is one of the hardest things to do.  Many people never truly heal, and thus stay a victim for the rest of their life.  Learn now how you can start the healing process to become a better you!

To heal from an abusive relationship, you need to be first out of that relationship and in a space where you are no longer being abused.  Once you have that, you can start the process of healing. First understand that there is a reason why you found yourself with your abusive partner.  This can be difficult to grasp, so I suggest looking only inward and asking yourself some serious questions.  Do not be afraid at what you may find out because this is just the start of a long process. Ask yourself questions like, "Why did I feel like it was okay to live my life with an abusive partner?"  The sad truth is most women and men that go through an abusive relationship do not know it abusive until it is too late. So we have a more underlining truth to uncover.  Why did you want that person so badly to be with you after instances of abuse or unwanted behavior?

After you have asked yourself some hard questions you will now need to take full responsibility for all of your actions no matter what.  Do not accept any victim talk. Do not speak as though you had no part in the way your life turned out.  Understand that everything you do is your own fault no matter what.  Be proud of your no so good decisions because they brought you to this understanding that you have right now.
