It is quite possible that he may have to face a similar condition again and again in every life, maybe for even seven births, again. Such is the law of Nature! Where the burden of one life itself seems so difficult, how can we take the risk of extending it to seven lives?!

So come, let us together find a solution to your problem of ‘I am not important to anyone.’ and consequently the thought of committing suicide!

1.Help others
Let us begin by helping others in whatever way you can. Check out for what you are good at, what are you passionate about, what do you love doing. Do this for the pleasure of others now! Feed the hungry and observe your reaction seeing the happiness on their face. It instantly makes you happy, isn’t it? So adopt an obliging nature and make a difference in people’s life. You automatically become an important factor then, in that person’s life!

Albeit, never keep any expectation or desire for fame or recognition, or else it could create great difficulties on your path. You just maintain a constant, strong intention to help people through your mind, body and speech. And when Nature graces you with an opportunity, serve mankind graciously with a sincere and open heart. Rest will follow on its own. If you like this idea, you may read the book “Right Understanding to Help Others” – it will nicely guide you on the way forward.

2.Attitude of Gratitude.
A mere thought on the ways by which you can be helpful to people would have made you realize that you have so much in life, that many others are totally deprived of, in this world. Would you not like to express your special thanks for whatever life has given to you?
Our family, friends, teachers, colleagues, and the entire society is constantly in our help eg. milkman, servant, sweeper, etc. Even the cleaning person is as important as the CEO of our company, or else our surrounding would be stinking with such dirt, isn’t it? For only a cup of tea that we casually sip every morning, we owe our gratitude towards manufacturers, transporters, suppliers of tea leaves, milk, water, gas, vessels, etc. without whom, tea wouldn’t have been possible. Similarly, but for you, their business wouldn’t flourish either. This reveals how we all, some way or the other, are so very important for each other!! So, it may not be right to assume that, ‘I am not important to anyone!’

3.Seek Godly love.
When we have love in our life, nothing else matters; we are least bothered about anything, not even about gaining importance from anyone - love is such a thing!!
But it ought to be pure love because pure love is constant. It incessantly flows without any expectations from the other person. Such love is called Godly love which has no conditions attached. In the eyes of a person in whose heart the godly love flows, everyone is equally important and special, because he does not look at one’s worldly self; his eyes are riveted only on the real Self!!!
There are so many people in this world, who live solely on this love. If you aspire to seek such love, you too will find it, because it is Nature’s law to fulfil all our wishes. One day you’ll surely meet Gnani, in whom the Godly love has manifested. And he will make sure you also become one like Him.

4.Self-Realization
Today, you are feeling that your self-worth has been lost, right? Wait until Gnani shows you your real self-worth? Gnani is the light that removes the darkness of ignorance from our life.

When you happen to meet Gnani, he helps you realize that you are indeed a Pure Soul, which can neither be killed nor ended by anyone, because Soul is an eternal element and that actually is our real Self. Pure love and eternal bliss are the inherent properties of our real Self. That is what we are made up of and therefore neither physical nor mental suffering can touch or affect the Self-realized!

5.Seek forgiveness
Try to track where did your low self-esteem begin from, and for what reason. Very often, certain unnerving experiences cause us great pain and they leave behind deep scars in our mind that repeatedly lead us to believe ‘I am worth nothing. I am not important for anyone.’ But that’s really not the case! If it was failures, you must know that they actually make you stronger, humble and wise. Anyone who succeeded didn’t make it directly to the top. If it were criticism, know that if you learn to take it positively, it will help you improve in life to a scale where only sky is the limit. If it is because of being rejected by your dear ones whom you intensely loved, know that this is necessary. If we always got what we wanted, we would never be able to appreciate what we really have with us

Moreover, whatever we encounter in our life is a result of some past karma of ours. This karma, after giving its result, is gone forever. Therefore, forgive everyone who you felt hurt you, as they have released you from the bind of your karma, which is a big thing! And internally, seek forgiveness from God for your past karma that led to such painful experience. When you do this heartily, you will feel light and nice. Once you attain Self-Realization, you will be able to practice this even better.

6.Love yourself.
Until you attain Self-Realization, here’s one more thing you can do. In case something happens that triggers negative feelings in you again, rather than getting overwhelmed by it, try this! Go to the mirror and say, “I am with you. I love you. You are important to me. What just happened will pass away.” We all need the feeling of sincere acceptance. So talk to yourself, giving encouragement.

7.Never give up in life.
You are much stronger than what you believe yourself to be. You are loved. You are important. You are alive for a reason. Be gentle to yourself and rebuild your strength—you’ll get through.

Param Pujya Dadashri says, “If a person has anxieties and worries in the final moments of his death, we should realize that he is bound to be reborn in a lower life-form. This is all invited misery. But if his internal awareness is fixed on the Pure Soul (even if physically he is in unconscious state), he goes to a higher life form in the next birth.”

So once you gather the strength to say goodbye to insecurity, self-doubt, fear of not belonging, you inspire and motivate people, who are defeated by their problems in life, and help them connect with Gnani, so that they renounce these debilitating thoughts and instead proclaim to death that, ‘Come whenever you want to, early or late, but come as samadhi death (blissful death remembering nothing but the Soul).’

With Gnani around, the world becomes a safe haven and a loving place.
Staying in his company, you are automatically surrounded by a positive magnetic force that provides you a field of safety. So let’s meet Gnani, and with his help sow the seeds of right understanding to reap a joyous and fulfilling life!!!

Author's Bio:

Ambalal M. Patel was a civil contractor by profession. In June 1958, spontaneous Self-Realization occurred within Ambalal M. Patel. From this point on, Ambalal became a Gnani Purush, and the Lord that manifest within him became known as Dada Bhagwan. A Gnani Purush is One who has realized the Self and is able help others do the same. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan used to go from town to town and country-to-country to give satsang (spiritual discourse) and impart the knowledge of the Self, as well as knowledge of harmonious worldly interactions to everyone who came to meet him. This spiritual science, known as Akram Vignan, is the step-less path to Self-realization
