How To Stop Thinking Unwanted Thoughts: How To Relax From A Panic Attack - Can't Stop Thinking About Death

Fighting anxiety is the natural thing to do when anxiety and/or panic attacks enter into a life. There are many things in life we can overcome by willpower or fighting. Sometimes when we are tired we are able to fight off our drowsiness by shear will. We actually rise up to the task of meeting the tiredness head on and defeat it. Trying to lose weight? Fighting off the temptation to have a piece of cake and other goodies can help you accomplish this. In my opinion, it is the only way; you got to fight the urge and win your fight with this urge!

Life presents us with a series of obstacles which for us to be successful, we need to fight and defeat. We can't just fight with them for the sake of fighting; we have to win the fight. So, it follows, if these obstacles are more formidable than we had originally thought, we need to fight them harder to put them in their place.

What can you do to stop constant anxiety and fear? Is it possible to stop panic attacks without medication?

Fighting to do what's Necessary

I think of bills as one of these obstacles. Since no one is going to pay them for me, I have to fight to get myself to work harder than I want to get the money to pay them. At the same time, I have to fight the temptation to spend more money which will accumulate more of them.

Yes, fighting is a normal instinct we have for survival. Unfortunately, it is this instinct that not only keeps anxiety alive in our lives, but it also has the capability to take a small amount of anxiety and turn it into a full blown anxiety disorder, complete with panic attacks.

Adrenaline's Trickery

As we feel anxiety coming on, we often are greeted by some unpleasant feelings. Anxiety makes adrenaline pump through our system. As it does, it changes the way our bodies physically function. This is why we feel our hearts races and our palms sweat. We also see things differently because our pupils dilate. Sometimes, a very sensitive person may believe he or she has hallucinated because of this.

However, if this were the extent of an anxiety attack, all would be well, or at least it would be something we all could deal with. The problem is we try to fight anxiety and since anxiety is a manifestation of the fight or flight response, fighting brings on more anxiety.

This added anxiety brings on more adrenaline flow and this brings on more scary feelings. It makes us sometimes feel like we are about to die. So, those people who are not familiar with this fight or flight response will probably try to fight the anxiety even harder; just the same way I am fighting the urge to have a piece of chocolate cake.

I will successfully fight my urge for cake but when I try to fight anxiety I will lose every time. Anxiety thrives on your fighting it. With anxiety the path to victory lies in your ability to surrender to it. Let it run its course and it will go away. Using this method has helped me immensely. While everybody is different, I hope you can benefit by from this philosophy too.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? Cure your general anxiety first, then cure anxiety attacks? Well, that's the mainstream approach. Basically, you have anxiety attacks because you suffer from general anxiety. Which is true; anxiety attacks usually happen to someone with higher daily anxiety levels than someone without anxiety.

But the problem here is that someone who has fallen victim to an anxiety attack never wants a repeat performance. The symptoms are just too overwhelming. So they are continually fearful about having more attacks. And here's the key; that 'fear' of another attack can actually produce one!

This is what you might call the 'cycle of anxiety'. It goes something like this: anxiety / anxiety attack / fear (of another attack) / anxiety / anxiety attack / fear / anxiety / and so on.

O.K. but doesn't prescription medication deal with all this?

These drugs can be very effective in reducing the symptoms of anxiety and anxiety attacks. Typical medications are anti-depressants, anti-anxiety (minor tranquilizers) or beta-blockers. They all work in different ways, but they all just work on the symptoms, they can't do much about the root causes of anxiety, or, the fear of other anxiety attacks.

And they all have negative side effects to varying degrees. Things like weight gain, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, headaches, confusion, sleep problems, agitation, amnesia, hallucinations, fatigue, lethargy, dependency, and many more, even anxiety itself!

But there are other therapies aren't there?

Yes, there are quit a few therapies that are proving popular, especially among folks who can't tolerate drug-based medication, or, just don't want anything to do with drugs. Some of the most common therapies are psychotherapy (especially cognitive-behavioral therapy or CBT), counselling, hypnosis, self-hypnosis, meditation, yoga, etc.

These can be very helpful. But to get the most out of them you really need to work at them and stick with them. They are what might be called 'coping' therapies; they help you manage your general anxiety and anxiety attacks.

So how do I break out of my cycle of anxiety?

In order to effectively identify and work on the root cause(s) of general anxiety, and so reach a proper cure for anxiety, you first need to break free from the cycle of anxiety. To do that you need to eliminate the fear of anxiety attacks. Treatments that either work on the symptoms, or, teach you how to 'cope' with your condition won't do this. So you need a different approach...

There's a completely unique technique called the One Move Technique (Trade Mark) which helps you eliminate the fear of anxiety attacks. This is just the first important stage in a powerful system called 'Panic Away'.

This first stage gets you out of the cycle of anxiety, so that the second stage can tackle your general anxiety far more effectively. And all without drugs, psychotherapy, hypnosis, meditation, etc. It has been used by over 34,000 folks at the time of writing.

You can't breathe, your thoughts are racing, and you might even feel like you're having a heart attack. You've tried medication, but it's not working like it used to--or it never worked at all. You can't stand the anxiety and panic any more, and you want a solution that works: Click Here

Considering you're looking for panic attack help, I'm about to ask what seems to be a very stupid question:

Do you think you'd be happier if you never got better?

I've worked with many people who have severe panic and anxiety, and one of the things that always seems to come up after a lot of digging is that there is a real and genuine fear of recovery.

This is something I experienced myself during more than 17 years of living with anxiety, so I know this is true, even though it sounds crazy.

I'm sure you hate your anxiety and would love it to be gone. But is there a part of you that's scared of finally being anxiety-free?

If you're looking for panic attack help then your anxiety is obviously pretty bad, as mine was. But as someone with anxiety, you probably fear change.

And what bigger change is there than a full recovery?

Imagine something that you'd like to be able to do that your anxiety prevents you from doing. If you had to do that thing right now you'd be terrified - if you weren't then you'd already be doing it, right?

Well, an imagined recovery to lots of people is full of these things they want to do but are too scared to go through with.

So a "recovered" future can look pretty scary.

When I realised this in my own anxiety battle, it helped clear up a lot of things. I realised a big part of me was being held back from getting better because I feared my won recovery.

The realisation was the biggest hurdle, though, and once I was past it all my other efforts towards panic attack help worked much better, and I hope the same is true for you now that you're aware of your possible fear of recovery.

Severe anxiety is a condition where the sufferer continually experiences severe, uncontrollable worrying over things that most people would take in their stride. All of us experience anxiety off and on, it's normal, but in someone with severe anxiety their anxieties are way excessive to the situation, and very often irrational.

Sufferers of severe anxiety worry about the usual things like their job, money, finances, relationships, health, school, etc., but their levels of anxiety are far higher than the situation would otherwise merit. Over time, it starts to affect their job, relationships, health, and, they find it difficult to function normally.

Some of the symptoms of severe anxiety are sleeping problems, restlessness, poor concentration, fatigue, tension in muscles, irritability, dizziness, lightheadedness, aching muscles, constipation, diarrhea, inability to relax, nausea, palpitations, sweating and stomach upsets.

Mainstream medical treatment normally consists of drug-based medicines. The most popular today seem to be anti-depressants and minor tranquilizers (anti-anxiety). These work by either, managing mood swings (anti-depressants), or, calming and reducing tension (minor tranquilizers). Then there are beta-blockers which are prescribed for the physical symptoms of anxiety only.

But there's a belief that these only treat the symptoms of anxiety, and not the underlying cause. They have many unpleasant side effects too. For these reasons more and more people are turning to more natural treatments.

Other treatments available, which don't use drugs, are things like; talking therapies (psychotherapy, counselling, hypnotherapy, group therapy, etc.), acupuncture, meditation, self-hypnosis, yoga, and other self-help therapies. These can be effective, and good for helping you manage your disorder, but, once again, it's very hard to get to the root cause of anxiety.

100% Natural Solutions to CRUSH Anxiety and Depression

The cause of severe anxiety is very difficult to pinpoint. No one really knows for sure, but there are several theories as to why some people suffer from the disorder and others don't; for example, personality traits, family genetics, learned behaviour, childhood experiences, and brain chemistry problems.

But, people with severe anxiety are more susceptible to panic attacks. And their symptoms are so terrifying for the sufferer -- many mistake the symptoms for a heart attack or stroke -- that they are are always anxious to avoid another attack. In a person with severe anxiety, this only adds to the totality of excessive worrying and fear. So that this fear of another attack may actually cause a panic attack. And then the fear of another intensifies, and so the vicious cycle goes on.

Without getting rid of the fear of the symptoms of another attack, a person with severe anxiety may find it difficult to get to the bottom of their condition and so tackle it effectively.

According to Joe Barry of 'Panic Away', getting rid of this fear of another panic attack is an important first step in finally tackling anxiety.

'Panic Away' is a totally natural treatment system for anxiety that (1) first gets rid of the fear of another panic attack using it's unique One Move Technique (Trade Mark), then, (2) effectively tackles the anxiety, and all without medication. It has been used by thousands of people in over 30 countries worldwide.
