While choosing the country to study in, every student should compare it to different countries in terms of living expenses and also compare the benefits each country has to offer. Similarly, while choosing the University, the student has to first have a budget to work within and then compare which university provides the best curriculum for the course chosen. 2. Financial Aid and Scholarships -
Once you secure your place in a University, go all out and apply for all the possible scholarships as they help you lighten the financial weight on your pockets. While a few universities offer scholarships based on your academic performance, some universities offer you scholarships based on an essay of expression or because of your extracurricular activities. Regardless of popular opinion, applying for Financial Aid is not inglorious or something shameful. To help students cope with their expenditures, every student is suggested to take up a part time job. Students are allowed to work 20 hours part time during the main semester terms and 40 hours during vacations. Each student receives minimum wage which is variable based on country. Taking up a part time job is highly recommended, not only because of the earnings, because it also gives them new exposure to people and also learn management skills.

4. Accommodation -
During the duration of the course, the basic necessity is accommodation. Almost every country provides different accommodation options to its students. The most ones are shared apartments. This is highly economical as the rent is split among the students but at the same time it is a great opportunity to meet new people from around the world. Another option is an en-suite room. This type of accommodation is private but has a limited space. A studio apartment is another option. Studio apartments are very spacious but also expensive. If you don't want to spend a lot on accommodation, another option is staying with a host family. The cost of living is reduced considerably if the student opts for this. A host family only provides you with a room to live in, this can be availed of with prior inquiry.

5. Student ID and Transportation -
Another perk of being a student studying abroad, is the facility of a Student ID. A Student ID is basically a special ID that provides discounts to students for public transportation, entertainment and various other public services. Along with reducing cost, a Student ID also lets students explore avenues that they may have been reluctant to explore without the Student ID. In countries that do not offer the service of a Student ID, presentation of a normal college ID card also lets you avail of various discounts. Be sure to inquire about this facility with your University once your course begins.
