How to Treat Melasma from The Inside Out
Written by Kalyna Kapur
What Causes Melasma
For some women who experience melasma it is only a temporary problem while their pregnant. As soon as they give birth to their child the melasma will often fade away on its own after a few months. However, in some cases the melasma can be a more persistent problem that never leaves unless proper treatment is administered to the skin. Other than pregnancy, genetics can also play a big role in the development of melasma. So if you're of Native American or Hispanic decent you are much more likely to experience melasma compared to someone who is of a different heritage. Another common cause of melasma is hormone replacement therapy. As mentioned earlier hormonal changes play a significant role in the development of melasma so ofcourse any treatment that involves the alteration of your hormones can cause this skin condition. If you start noticing dark spots appearing on your face immediately stop taking any hormone related medications you're on to begin clearing your skin. How to Treat Melasma
According to Finally Melasma Free, "There are a number of different ways to treat melasma but the best alternative is to treat the problem from the inside out". Treating melasma from the inside out means re-balancing your hormones so that you can permanently get rid of melasma and not have to worry about it returning in the future. Some simple things you can do to re-balance your hormones if they're off involves: • Eating Foods That Improve Gut Health - You want to eat foods that improve your gut health because when your gut health is in good shape your hormones will become more balanced. The reason for this is because your gut is responsible for regulating and removing hormones. Some of the best foods to eat to improve your gut health are nuts, eggs, ginger, and wild salmon. Eat these foods regularly and you'll start noticing your melasma fading away. • Eating Foods That Improve Liver Health - Since your liver is one of the main organs in your body that gets rid of excess hormones it makes sense to eat foods that help keep your liver in good shape. Some of the best foods to eat for your liver health include avocados, cabbage, tomatoes, spinach, and garlic. Eat these foods on a daily basis to keep your liver functioning at a high level. • Eating Foods That Improve Adrenal Glands - A lot of women suffering from melasma are dealing with a condition known as adrenal fatigue. This condition stops your adrenal glands from doing what they were designed to do and thats keeping your hormones like estrogen and progesterone in check. Some of the best foods to eat to help revive your adrenal glands are sardines, liver, avocados, and nuts. Eating these foods will help your adrenal glands start producing hormones inside your body like they should, and you should begin seeing the difference in your skin. Once you get what's going on inside of you right everything on the exterior including your skin will reflect that. Just remember to eat these foods regularly each day to reap the good benefits they provide.Article author
