How to Use Acid Ionized Water for Cleaning
Written by Dalia Sreideriene
Some time ago a report was released by a media house about a certain hotel in California that was using acid ionized water, instead of normal household cleaning agents, to clean the hotel’s rooms. Acid water is characterized by a pH range of 2 to 6. It is made by using the electrolysis method with an extremely low voltage. In general, acid water is divided into two - strong acid water and mild acid water. Strong acid water is used for sterilization and cleaning procedures, while mild acid water is used for the nails, hair and skin.
Acid water is, in chemical terms, hypochlorous sodium hydroxide, which degreases surfaces in the same way other chemical detergents do. The use of acid water has enabled thousands of households to save on their budgets. In addition, the environment is also taken care of, as well as user’s heath. In fact, some scientists who have tested the acid water say that it is powerful enough to destroy anthrax spores, yet does not cause harm to either humans or the environment. It is said to be ten times more effective than ordinary detergents in killing bacteria.
There are various uses of acidic water for cleaning that include:
Household cleaning
Acid ionized water is particularly useful for removing dirt and grime, as well as invisible germs. It is also used for removing unpleasant odors as well as for sterilization procedures. It is used to sanitize kitchen counters and bathroom tiles and floors. In addition, it is used for cleaning kitchen cutting boards and, when sprayed into a refrigerator directly, it removes odors. Acid ionized water can also be used to clean pans and pots. All one has to do is soak them overnight. By morning, the stains and burns will be easy to remove.
One can use acid water for cleaning hands and reducing any itches. Some people use it to kill mold and fungi as well as to inhibit their growth, by spraying it into laundry baskets. Also, one can use it to eliminate unpleasant odors from kitchen sponges, cleaning mirrors and wood floors, as well as cleaning carpets and bathtub mats made from rubber. Other household uses include disinfecting door knobs and handles, sanitizing phones and computer keyboards, etc. It is also used for cleaning vehicles.
Pet cleaning
Acid water is used for cleaning pets; thus preventing skin diseases and itching. It is also used for disinfecting pets’ bedding.
