Fashion is changing everyday. New technology is being discovered every hour and countries are rapidly developing. The fashion industry has evolved along with the changes in the surrounding technological environment and has managed to rise profitably. Along with its styles it has changed its distribution channels and expanded it audience. Websites like FashionandYou have taken this industry to new heights by offering customers the option of purchasing items from the comfort of their own home.

FashionandYou is one of the few examples of just how much this industry has grown. Fashion by its self is continuously evolving. The fashion industry however is a product of the modern age. Prior to the mid-19th century most clothing was custom made. They were either handmade by individuals or as home production or on order from dressmakers and tailors. In the 20th century, along with the rise of new technologies like the sewing machine, the rise of global capitalism, the development of the factory system of production and proliferation of retail outlets such as department stores, clothing started to become mass produced in standard sizes and sold at fixed prices. Although this industry first developed in Europe and America, today it is an international and highly globalized industry. Clothing is often designed in one country, manufactured in another and then sold world over. The fashion industry is comprised of four levels; the production of raw materials level, the production of fashion goods level, the retail level and the advertising and promotions level. The raw materials in the first level are principally fibers and textiles but also include leather and fur. At the production level, designers, manufacturers, contractors and others manufacture the fashion goods. In the third level that is the retail level the fashion products are distributed and sold to different consumers. The last level consists of advertising and promotional strategies and methods adopted by the fashion brands and companies. These levels consist of many separate but interdependent sectors, all of which are devoted to the goal of satisfying consumer demand for apparel under conditions that enable participants in the industry to operate at a profit. The fashion industry is one of the largest employers in United States for decades now. However employment has considerably reduced since production is now being moved to countries like China that offer cheap labor. Since data on the fashion industry is typically reported for national economies and expressed in terms of the industry’s separate sectors, aggregate figures for world production of textiles and clothing is difficult to obtain. Either way, by any measure, the industry accounts for a significant share of the world’s economic output.

The fashion industry has moved online through websites like FashionandYou and it’s likes. These websites offer consumers a host of different items like clothes, accessories, bags and many more.
