How do movies influence our behaviour and impact the Law of Attraction?

So many movies can lower our vibration with content of murder, mayhem and gratuitous violence and sex. Have you ever watched a violent movie and felt afterwards as if you had actually suffered? The same can be said about some books. When reading them or watching movies, you actually feel fear, depression, anger, grief. When a book or movie creates feelings within you, those feelings have a lasting effect on your vibration and alter your energetic frequency you are transmitting out to the world. Think back to a highly negative movie you have seen at some time. How did you feel afterwards and what was the energy like of the people you may have seen the movie with? These stories are so powerful and have become an acceptable mode of entertainment in western society. Imagine the impact on our well-being when we continually bombard our minds with that level of thinking from Movies, TV, and Current Affairs and so on.

Electronic games that our children play are also an example of the vibrational energy we are allowing our kids to be programmed by and in our perception of it being “only a game” many parents see this as harmless. Not so!

Whatever we focus on is what we attract in our lives in some form and looking at society as a whole we can see the impact of the movies books and games especially on our children. The level of violence, depression, poor health and self-esteem, often leading to suicide in the youth of today is an accurate indicator of many of the minds of this generation. I discussed this with a 10 and 16 year old last night after having seen “The Blind Side”. The comment on playing their favourite games and movies was, “We know it’s only a game (when we play those violent or criminal games)”. What they don’t understand is the level of focus while watching/participating in these movies and games is powerful enough to impact their psyche and alter their energy frequency. An observer can see the changes in behaviour and attitude of people of all ages who participate in constant negativity of this kind. Even watching the daily news can impact our energy drastically due to the propensity to report sensationally rather than inspirationally. There are of course, exceptions to reported stories.

There are some great movies and books available that inspire and uplift the soul and mind to higher thinking. Stories of desperation to inspiration! Stories of people, who have lived lives of hardship, tragedy, sickness or poverty and raised themselves through necessity and spirit to achieve greatness: History is littered with many great stories, fact and fiction, of triumph of spirit over self.
I have seen two movies in the last week that were stories of this nature. One being Crazy Heart: The story of an alcoholic who finds his “Rock bottom” and turns his life around. Last night I saw “The Blind Side”: A great story of a Christian family and a homeless boy who were synergistically brought together out of awareness, faith, trust and inspired action. Avatar is another great movie that demonstrates the need in society for understanding and acceptance of the differences in cultures; showing respect for others way of being and many other deeply powerful themes on a spiritual and societal level as well as personal relationship levels.

What movies or stories have impacted your thinking in a way you feel change and inspiration occur, even if only for a moment? Those moments are to be revisited as they touch something deep within you that would love to be expressed. The movie “Pay it forward” is a great example that has touched so many lives and created a world movement. It’s a story that touches our intrinsic nature and it gave us permission to be philanthropic in everyday practical ways. I know I have personally said to people many times “please pay it forward”. I know that small phrase inspires the receiver to do just that.

When we watch and participate in life at this inspirational level of energy, the attraction is of a totally different nature to those mentioned earlier in this article. The powerful attractions of filling our mind with things that inspire us changes our whole experience of opportunity, our circle of influence, health, well-bring, and expands our philanthropic nature. In other words we become more in touch with our true nature which perpetuates and becomes highly contagious to those we encounter!

Here is an example of some more movies many see as inspirational, involve a lesson and are enjoyable to watch. I’m sure you are familiar with some of these already.

Pursuit of Happyness – based on the true story of Chris Gardiner, a self-made millionaire, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and philanthropist.
The Legend of Bagger Vance
We are Marshall - about the aftermath of the 1970 plane crash that killed nearly all of the Marshall University Thundering Herd football team; the rebuilding of the program; and the healing that the community undergoes.

And there are many many more. Within your mind and your world, throw out the garbage and fill your mind and your life with inspiration - proactively affect your vibration and power of attraction. And remember to have fun doing it!
