You hear it all the time: "Use your head. Think it through. Make sure it makes sense." These age-old adages began before we were old enough to spell our names, yet somehow, our caregivers were compelled to teach us to use our brains and ignore our inner voices. By the time we were in grade school, our imaginary friends were no longer welcome in our parents' house. "You're too old for such things. Go play with your REAL friends."

Such a pity.

I suppose it was because our parents weren't as tuned in to their own intuitive spirits. Or maybe they were just trying to suggest that intelligence and knowledge would get us further on the road of life. Maybe, just maybe, they were just plain scared of our imaginations. We could wonder forever about the 'whys' of those teachings, but it makes no difference now. What does is our willingness to open that little Pandora's Box and have some fun again.

Imagination is the seed of intuition. Intuition is the seed of imagination. Which came first, the chicken or the egg? I'm of the mind that it doesn't really matter how you define a thing, but how you integrate it into your world. Regardless of the ol' chicken/egg dispute, one thing remains true: they're both present NOW and that's really all I care about!

I think it's a marvelous thing to engage one's magic. And, to me, intuition is a form of my own (magic). It is a mysterious, reliable, absolutely accurate source of knowing that has never failed me, unless I ignored it. Those times when I heard those voices whispering their wisdoms and, instead, used my logic to negate those messages. We've all done it, and some of us do it still. The trouble is, logic without intuition is only half the package. It is only when we use them both, trusting the balance of our brain and our spirit, that we can see the "whole" of our truths. It is in this marriage of intuition and intelligence that we find out just how splendid our journeys can be. Fun, exciting, opening up to all those delicious possibilities...the way we intended to live before we ever arrived here.

There are still times when I hear people say they think I'm crazy. I'm crazy because I've made a decision or a choice based on my 'gut', not what appears to be the 'sane' choice. They try to talk me out of things. They insist I'm heading for disaster. They even go so far as to say, "don't call me when this blows up in your face."

GEEZ. How horribly discouraging.

But here's the real kicker: I don't give a rip. Not anymore. Because I am a Blossoming Being, a spectacular part of the Universal WOW. And no matter what my 'brainy' friends may say, the only path I can take is my own. Wouldn't have it any other way.

They're called 'whispers' for a reason.
Can you hear yours?
