Stop Puppy Chewingr
Before you try to stop your puppy from chewing, you need to recognize first that puppy chewing is a natural thing for them to and is actually an expected behavior from them. Puppies chew on different objects because they get bored or they are teething. Instead of stopping you puppy from chewing you can redirect it instead.

Why You Need to Teach Your Puppy to Stop Chewingr
People tolerate puppy chewing since it is still young because they think it’s natural. Or they use negative reinforcement and yell at the puppy, making it confuse and can cause other types of behavior problem. The truth is your response to your pet puppy should be calm and use redirection to help your puppy stop chewing.

How You Can Stop Your Puppy from Chewingr
If you want your puppy to stop chewing on your things, here are some things that you can do. First of all, never shout at your dog openly or hit them. It doesn’t matter how angry you are but never direct your anger at them. It can confuse them and they will never figure out what they did wrong. What you can do instead is the following actions.

Behavior Adjustment – why don’t you try to make your puppy chew on other things instead of from making them stop? When you see your puppy chewing on your things, you can get a chew toy and replace it and then give praise to your puppy when it is chewing on the toy. This can teach your puppy that it is okay to chew on the toy instead of your things.

Keeping Your Puppy Preoccupied – If you want them to stop chewing, then make them do some activities to stop them from being bored. Even if your puppy is not teething, it would want to chew some things to make it keep active. You can avoid this from happening by making them do some exercises and playing with them when you are at home. If no one is there to keep your puppy active, make sure that it has lots of toys that it can play with so that your puppy can stay active.

Crate Training – When your puppy is starting to chew on your things especially when you are not at home, you can crate them. Alte
atively, what you can do is make them stay on one room when you are away so that they won’t have any access to everything in the house.

Aversion Sprays – you can use a Bitter Apple or Cayenne pepper if your puppy start to chew on things because they will not like the taste. What will happen is that they would associate the bad taste on that object so they will stop chewing it.

When your puppy has chewing behavior, always remember that it is normal. What you need to do is shift its attention to something that they can chew.

Be Consistentr
The best way to make sure that your puppy is not chewing anymore is that you have to be sure you are consistent in all the things that you do. Never let them chew on your personal items such as a sock or slipper if you want them to stop. It’s just like expecting them to have a stuff toy and then expecting them to know which toys are okay to chew, that is unrealistic expectations. You are the owner and you need to lay down rules to them and make them follow it. When you do this, your dog will learn right away and its chewing will be a less of your problem.
