The field of medicine involves continual learning. Even after students have graduated and begun their careers as nurses or medical assistants they still need to attend various continuing education (CE) and continuing education unit (CEU) courses to stay updated with the latest trends, procedures, drug-related information, as well as maintain their licenses and improve job opportunities.

Continuing education for nurses and medical assistants is very crucial for nurses at all levels including Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP) as they need to stay up-to-date with the latest in their specialized fields. These CE medical conferences help nurses bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation. Several reputed organizations conduct live and online education for nurses, which cover topics such as Mate
al Care Nursing, Geriatric Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, Adult Medical-Surgical Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, and Paramedics and Military Medics.

Continuing education units are also applicable for both nurses and other medical assistants as they are required to by many of the state nursing boards, state laws, and their employers in order to maintain their licensure. The American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) requires a medical assistant to acquire a total of 60 CEU recertification points. Medical assistants must obtain at least 30 points from courses that are approved by the AAMA.

Often CME/CE medical conference organizers conduct free CEU courses for medical assistants and offer free CEUs for RNs with the option of earning credits online.
Continuing medical education courses are invaluable not just for imparting relevant knowledge related to their fields, they also offer opportunities such as networking with peers and faculty members, improving skillsets with hands-on practice, and developing employment opportunities.
