Importance of Team Spirit for kids

“Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success”. We human beings are blessed with a very magnificent trait that we can’t live an isolated life. In every walk of life we need partners with whom we can share our feelings and also need their help to accomplish different tasks. In this world, no one could be the monarch of the solitary island. To lead a healthy life, we always need the supportive hands of others. Accomplishing a task as a group has a charm of its own. We can see the glowing faces of our cricket or football players after winning a particular match. This is their team spirit that makes them smile and share the victory with each other.

Not only in human beings, but we can also notice this in animals and plants too. If we observe wild animals, we can find that they always travel in a group. This ensures security to their lives and also they can face the enemies if they are in a group. During the storm, the chances of survival of a bunch of plants are higher than a plant standing alone in a piece of land. Team spirit is very important in every walk of life. There are many people who afraid of mixing in a group because of lack of self confidence. Thus it is very important to teach your child the basic rule and importance of working in a team. It can be done in school as well as inside the house. School is a much better place to learn this skill as kids get the chance to interact with lots of their peers in the school only. When we act in a team, we get both mental and physical support to cope up with the situation. There are different tips that parents and teachers can follow to inculcate the spirit of team work among the students. These are briefly discussed below:-

• It is said that a child learn the basics of life from the home environment only. So always try to set up an example of good team work in your house only. When kids see their parents to share a healthy relation with each other and with the family members, the kids also learn this art
• Always encourage your child to share things with the friends. This will teach the child the art of sharing and at the same time also encourage them to work in a group
• Group games are another good ways of inculcating this spirit. Teachers can arrange for some group games and assign a particular task to each child to do. This also infuses leadership qualities in them
• Assigning projects to kids to be done in a group also inspired them to work in a team. They put their 100% effort to accomplish the project and thus develops closeness with the members of the group
• Teamwork can often inspire competitiveness with other teams – especially in physical activities. Encourage your child to be a good sportsman and a team-player.

A team in its true sense cannot be built in a day, every member needs to learn and understand each other, as well as individual limitations.
