Old age's downside is that our body gradually lacks its capacity to defend itself, leaving it very susceptible to foreign diseases. When our immune system depreciates gradually, everything we do with our body when we're young can collapse and reward us with the outcome.

The point is if we live a healthy life while we are young, it could bring us a great advantage as we get older.

In a certain article, it was said that Japan is one of the many countries where people live longer lives. You probably heard of that before. You can see people arriving at the age of a hundred but still have the ability to walk in the park or even talk about their youthful days. When asked what is the secret, the answer has always been the same and for everyone: "improve your diet and stay active".

Let's break that into two parts. First of all, yes we obviously need to be aware of what we eat. Some unhealthy foods can have an immediate effect but in the long run the most effect on us. Even our mothers plead with us as a kid to eat vegetables because we need to build good nutrients in our bodies as early as possible. Having a poor quality diet rich in processed food is correlated with an elevated risk of obesity, fatigue, stomach disorders, cardiac failure and stroke, type 2 diabetes, cancer, and early death. The latter is to stay active. If you think you 're lazy, that's going to give you more rest, well you're wrong. Being lazy can kill you: Physical inactivity that causes 5 million deaths each year. This is because being sedentary will deprive us of the strengthening of the muscle and the energy we need to be more productive throughout the day. Resting is not bad. But of course, to gain more in life everything should be in balance.

Just to add one more, if you really want to live a longer life, then STOP smoking. Cigarette smoking causes premature death: Life expectancy for smokers is at least 10 years shorter than for nonsmokers. Quitting smoking before the age of 40 reduces the risk of dying from smoking-related disease by about 90%. This is just a piece of advice, we understand that it is hard to break a habit, but if you want to treasure your life, it is up for you to decide.

All of this is a matter of choice and motivation. What keeps you going? What are your goals? This will define the choices you make so you better have a worthwhile goal to be able to choose effectively.
