Indoor Air Purifiers
Written by T D Houser
Indoor air purifiers provide homeowners with fresh clean air that is very important for ones overall good health. People do not realize that they are breathing such poor quality air in their homes. Our indoor air contains more toxins than many people realized do. In many instances, the air indoors is more toxic than the air outdoors. This is because air pollutants are trapped inside the home and cannot get out due to the air tightness of many homes. It is very important to our overall health to have good clean air in our homes.
There are several different indoor air purifiers that will give you purified home air. These include hepa, uv light, zeolite and carbon. Some purifiers use stainless steel rods to gather the pollutants in the air while others use air filters. Both methods work well though. Every once in awhile you must replace the filters or clean the steel rods to maintain the machine.
Indoor air purifiers pull air through several layers of filters to derive the purified air. The first layer is the pre-filter. It removes the larger particles that are in the air. Air then is passed through a carbon filter layer that helps to remove gases, vapors, chemicals and odors. Air is then passed through two anti-microbial filters for more filtering.
Air then passes through to the hepa media, which then releases the purified air into the room. You should be able to tell the difference in the overall quality that the indoor air purifier provides in your room. It is quite important to maintain your purifier; otherwise, you will not experience the benefits that it is meant to offer.
Most indoor air purifiers remove most of the pollutants in the air, thus giving you excellent quality air. These pollutants are as small as microns, which is too small to see with the naked eye. Many people suffer from air borne allergies; it is these allergy sufferers that notice a big improvement in how they feel once the air purifier has been introduced to the home. You will notice many offices now are using them to keep the air fresh in the workplace to help prevent people from catching an airbo
e virus and thus losing productive work hours.
One of the reasons indoor air purifiers are so important is that it is believed that chemicals in our homes are causing illness. Radon exposure is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States according to the EPA. This is one of the reasons that the need for air purification is so great now in North America. These small machines are great valuable tools in the fight against air borne illnesses.
The best way to ventilate your home is with clean air from outside. However, the weather does not always permit that, especially in some areas of the country. In addition, there are many days when the level of air pollution outdoors prevents you from opening your windows as well. For this reason, indoor air purifiers are so important to your family’s health.
