Energy consumption in industrial manufacturing and processing plants remains a significant part of the global economy. When designing control systems for power facilities, it’s important to take into consideration the following processes: load flow and voltage calculation, generator synchronization, device coordination with load sharing, short circuit calculation, motor acceleration, cable wiring, ground grid analysis, transient and dynamic stability, harmonic analysis, optimal power flow, optimal capacitor placement, low & high voltage DC systems, transmission, unbalanced load flow, generator start-up, and reliability assessment. It beneficial to use intelligent load flow software when optimizing power system controls, because it provides settings to optimize the device operations within specific system constraints.The control system facilitates voltage regulation,and manages unregulated sources with unhampered power grids and generator connections.

Motor acceleration process is used to determine flickering levels, voltage dips, and the motor torque capability.Engineered over-current-protective devices are used to help clear a fault, without widespread damage to the electrical components of the circuit system.The goal is to protect each component against system faults and failures while selectively isolating faults with the minimum system disturbance.The current distortion is typically produced by chopping electric flow sources such as frequency converters. Based on the existing failure rates and outage duration times, a reliability assessment evaluates the probability of electrical components in performing their intended purpose adequately during the system lifetime and under the various operating conditions.
