The food which we intake is breaks down by the stomach acid to facilitate the digestion.This acid does it by producing a digestive enzyme called pepsin that breaks down the food into the amino acid bonds and this process is called proteolysis.So when there is indigestion of food particles in the stomach it resultant in the stomach acid. Omeprazole is the main ingredient of this medicine. It reduces gastric acid secretion and increases gastric mucus and bicarbonate production, creating protective coating on gastric mucosa and easing discomfort from excess gastric acid.

Few precaution needs to be taken before taking this medicine to avoid any side effect. It should not be atken by people who are allergic to this medicine or to its ingredient. This medication may hide the symptoms of stomach cancer. The doctor should be careful with patients using this medication. Please note that you should not increase or decrease the dose of the medicine on your own as it may lead to serious side efect. The recommended dosage of Prilosec is 20 mg daily for 4 weeks. This medicine should be taken with full galss opf water before the first meal of the day. Take your medicine as prescribed by the doctor. Try to take the medicine at the same time each day. Keep his medicine away from the reach of the children.
