Yes, it is possible to prevent karma from affecting us through hearty repentance and doing good deeds that are devoid of selfish motivation.

Every one of us is affected by our karma. These karmas were sown in the past life and in this life, they have their effects. Good deeds will give us happiness and similarly bad deeds will bring us unhappiness.

Any bad deeds that we may have done through our mind, body, and speech will come back to be settled, this is how the law of karma functions. But pratikraman plays a powerful role in reducing the effects of our past deeds. Also, if bad deeds bring us unhappiness consequently doing good deeds will with certainty bring us happiness.

It is alright when good deeds unfold as they bring us happiness, joy, and a sense of inner harmony. But when bad deeds are discharged, they affect us negatively, causing us to suffer, making us anxious, worried, sad, etc. During these times to experience a sense of inner peace, pratikraman plays a very vital role. By asking for forgiveness, we are reversing the harm caused and lessening the effects of our bad karma.

Pratikraman is a three-fold process:

1) Alochana: Confessing our mistake before the pure Soul residing within the person whom we may have had negative thoughts towards.

2) Pratikraman: Asking for forgiveness for your mistake of thinking negatively and

3) Pratyakhyan: Making a firm resolve to never repeat this mistake.

For example, if we have negative thoughts toward someone, these thoughts will reach the other person and impact them negatively. To reverse that negative thought simply ask for forgiveness. The more pratikraman we do the greater the impact will be. By doing pratikraman we are reducing the intensity of our negative thoughts.

Also, during this time, it is important to have the right awareness that 'It is my bad karma which is the cause for my suffering, pain or misery and no one else is to be blamed or held responsible'. Maintaining this awareness will help us to keep inner balance and stability at times of difficult times, without looking for justice or making someone wrong.

How can doing good deeds help us to reduce our suffering?

The act of doing good deeds selflessly is incredibly beneficial. It not only positively impacts the people around us, but it also has an uplifting effect on us. The ultimate purpose of human existence is to help others in any way possible.

Dada Bhagwan, the founder of Akram Vignan, said, "Happiness begins from the moment you do something for others." This sentence conveys an important message - when we spread happiness to others, we also experience happiness in our own lives. On the other hand, if we bring misery and unhappiness to others, we will face the same consequences ourselves.

Therefore, acts of kindness such as helping others, donating to charities, and avoiding hurting others can eventually free us from suffering and misery. By cultivating the intention of doing good deeds and prioritizing the needs of others selflessly, above our own, we will experience happiness and our overall well-being will improve.

To conclude: By practicing pratikraman and performing good deeds, we can reduce the effects of karma and pave the way for a happier way of living. In addition, Akram Vignan, a spiritual science, offers a path to ultimate liberation from karma, enabling us to live a fulfilling life free from the bondage of karma forever.
