They say that most of us buy ANYTHING, mostly on emotion. In fact, two thirds of all purchases are made from our heart rather than our heads. If that's true; it would explain why there is so much bad news about real estate in the media today which is causing people to emotionally panic. Most people will follow the masses and invest according to what is the latest topic or headlines in the news. For example, back in the late 90's the biggest thing in the media was the NASDAQ and tech stocks meteoric rise. Many people got swept up, emotionally, and invested large sums of many into the stock market. Were there decisions based off sound P/E ratios? Contrarily, most people just went along with the tide, disregarding a companies sound business performance or P/E ratios. There emotional decisions caused most of them to lose a significant amount of money. Overall, americans lost over a trillion dollars due to the tech bubble bursting! Fast forward to today. What can we learn from our current real estate enviroment? Yes, the market is very weak in terms of sales and pricing power. Yes, there is negative news in the media about how the housing and mortgage industry is caving in. Yes, most people are NOT investing in real esate at this time. I'm sure there will be more fall-out to come. I say...GREAT! We now have an opportunity to find great real estate investments at great prices with a low interest rate. If we take our emotions out of the picture and use our minds and look closely at what is unfolding in terms of opportunities for real esate investing, I'm sure you'll agree with me that we should be investing now. Don't be like most people, who invest with the masses and lose money with them too. Be different and use your mind and brain when investing. I'm sure you will be richer and happier that you did. I guess you could emotional about that!nn
