As for last many years we have seen that technology has been changing rapidly. Today in enterprises Voice over IP based systems are overtaking the traditional TDM based PBX systems as VoIP is cost effective and provides competitive advantages. Service providers are busy developing new innovative products that work on open standards like Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). This is new means of a signaling protocol that controls communication sessions and enables multimedia features like video, fax and instant messaging etc. Enterprises have built their IP-PBX using SIP through Asterisk because it can reduce there communication cost and effectively fulfill their on-going demands. rnFuture Trends of VoIP for Mobiles:rnNowadays mobile VoIP is highly become popular and its usage is vastly increasing with the usage of Wi-Fi enabled handsets. Service providers are also investing in 4G to propel mobile VoIP as they are planning to upgrade 3G networks and WiMax networks to an open access LTE platform.rnAccording to a recent survey report by a market research firm the total number of mobile VoIP subscribers will reach to 288 millions by the end of 2013. Analysts are forecasting that more than 50% subscribers will use mobile VoIP via their mobile VoIP providers while one-third will use it with 3G MVNOs or mobile operators and other 11% with WiMAX/LTE operators.rnIt is also predicted that by 2013 it will be well over 400 million dual-mode handsets(Wi-Fi + Cellular) so a lot of people will b using VoIP over Wi-Fi which will provide more audio quality and a faster connection. By 2013, in terms of revenue Asia Pacific will be the largest regional market. rnHigh Performance Telecom pundits are also predicting that by the year 2016, mobile VoIP solutions will earn approx $ 36 billion annually, due to rise in the demand of consumers who want to be connected while on the go. Rapid growth of the smart phones is another factor for the rise of mobile VoIP. Such compelling demand from the consumer would force mergers and joint venture partnerships among VoIP vendors and mobile operators to sustain mobile VoIP services.rnSuch technological improvements would naturally entice more and more people to use mobile VoIP than a regular call to make free calls or a cheap international call to old PSTN Landline phones. rnTo cope up with such a fast pace development in the telecom industry, there is a need to initiate the leadership development and telecom training programs for executives where they can interact with other peer cut executive to discuss the future telephony and future technology trends both from technological and organizational development perspective to successfully lead their companies’ to the next level.
