“We are in the perfect circumstances for our Souls to learn whatever they designed this whole game to learn. If we come back into form from having merged with All That Is, what the Buddhist call nirvana, we are in the world but not of it. We play the cosmic sport. We fill the forms though there is no one home, it is just more Leela, the dance of the Divine.” RAM DASS

We may think that we want to know the real truth about why we’re experiencing certain life circumstances that are causing us dissatisfaction, so we can take appropriate action to change and be happier. But do we really?

Neptune, the planet of illusion and delusion and all things psychic, stations direct at 7° Pisces on November 18th and forms an exact square, or challenge, with Karmic Teacher Saturn in truth-seeking Sagittarius on November 26th—right smack in the middle of Thanksgiving Day. Talk about a reality check–HA! Saturn is basically saying to us: “You want the truth—but can you handle the truth?”

This means that the Universe is giving us a golden opportunity to lift the veils that color our perception from seeing clearly what the true purposes are behind troubling circumstances in our lives. This rare opening has been building for months and its effects will continue to reverberate throughout 2016—with this exact aspect repeating on 6/17/16 and 9/10/16—giving us plenty of time to get the message and actually do something about it.

If we deny what is being presented and choose to forget that actions always speak louder and truer than words, rest assured that Saturn may just rip away those obscuring veils as a way to encourage us to take action. This could mean pushing ourselves or being pushed out of our safe, secure, but stagnate, comfort zones—literally or in terms of our habitual limiting belief patterns.

For example, if we could sit around the Thanksgiving table with our family of origin and actually see them with a totally fresh eye, as if we’ve never seen them before—i.e. carrying no baggage or memories from the past—we would see, without doubt, that they’re all mentally ill and wounded human beings—as is everyone on the planet. It’s just a question of degree.

Once we really get this and, most importantly, get that we are powerless to change where they’re at in their own unique karmic journeys, what else can we do but open our hearts with compassion for their suffering? And, if we can do this with our families, then we can do this with anyone on the planet. I call this a karmic final exam!

In the last few months, I’ve heard an inordinate amount of delusional venting from clients about how—if only their mate, money, job, home or health would shape up to their ideal specifications—THEN they could be happy! HA! Our Neptunian cosmic perspective allow us to see the highest possibilities in everyone and everything—BUT—if we have a little too much Neptunian influence in our charts that is not fully developed in a positive way—we may not have learnt yet how to simultaneously hold these ideal potentials WITH a split screen in which we also hold the vision of reality just as it is without judgment or aversion.

In other words, as Ram Dass says:

“Across planes of consciousness, we have to live with the paradox that opposite things can be simultaneously true.”

Here are some cosmically humorous examples from my own life of simultaneously holding the vision of others at their highest potentials with the reality of where they’re really at:

Spiritual teachers who come to me in confidence because they don’t know how to meditate—but are still operating at their highest when inspiring others to evolve.
Multi-millionaires and super models who secretly are the most fear-based, insecure and unhappy souls I have ever worked with.
Psychotherapists who have some of the deepest unresolved emotional issues (especially with their families of origin), but who are exceptionally good at helping others who are suffering.
Financial managers whose personal money issues are painfully unhealed yet are capable of giving valuable advice to others nonetheless.
And trance channels . . . don’t even ask :)

Many times I hear clients say variations of: “If only my mate would realize the potentials I saw in them in the beginning of the relationship, then I wouldn’t be so stuck.” And some of these clients have been holding on to this delusionary story-line for decades of how their mate needs to be better before they themselves can get moving. Now that’s a true undeveloped Neptunian-type talking!

So let’s be clear:

We’re powerless over external events unfolding—but we do have power over how we choose to respond.
We’re powerless over the speed at which another person chooses to heal their karma and fulfill their potentials—but we do have power over how we choose to be with them—or not.
We’re powerless to change the past as it has affected the state of our finances, health or home, but we do have power in the NOW to take action to improve our situation going forward.

After I hear a litany of all the woes a client’s partner, friend or family member has caused them, I always say, “Yes. But they are at exactly where they need to be at for their karmic lessons and soul growth. The question is, ‘What are you doing there?’”

For those of us with a little too much Neptunian influence in the romantic area (and that includes me too :)), it may help to listen to Pink’s lyrics from her song "TRY":

Ever wonder 'bout what he's doing
How it's all turned to lies
Sometimes I think that it's better,
To never ask why

Where there is desire, there is gonna be a flame
Where there is a flame, someone's bound to get burned
But just because it burns, doesn't mean you're gonna die
You gotta get up and try, and try, and try
Gotta get up and try, and try, and try
You gotta get up and try, and try, and try

Funny how the heart can be deceiving
More than just a couple times
Why do we fall in love so easy
Even when it's not right

You gotta get up and try, and try, and try
Gotta get up and try, and try, and try

If we’re unhappy with our circumstances, the bottom line question to ask ourselves is: “Are we doing the best we can do, a day at a time, to effect change in our health, home, money situation or relationships, or are we sitting around moaning about the way things are and choosing to stay stuck?”

When clients ask me: “Will my health improve?” Or “Will I get a job or more money?” Or “Will I meet my mate?” I always respond, “Well, what’s your vote?” And they look at me as if I’m crazy! But the truth is that we have free will to choose to create a personal reality of what we desire going forward, but manifestation can only occur if:

We believe it’s possible for us.
We believe we’re worthy of what we desire.
We’re capable of holding the faith that it’s for our highest good and that, if it’s meant to be, it will unfold in perfect time in the Divine plan.
It’s for our karmic healing and soul growth in the Flow of Life.
We can vote “YES” for our desires on the soul level, not just from the ego, without equivocation.

The challenge is that limiting beliefs about what is possible for us can form deeply ingrained unconscious karmic ruts in our identity until they are unearthed and resolved. In fact, many of us have a scarcity mentality based on lifetimes of limiting beliefs of unworthiness that causes us to settle for crumbs from the banquet of Life because we think: “It’s better than nothing and it’s all I deserve.”

The karmic lesson begins with LETTING GO, starting with our limiting beliefs. Then we can choose to risk pushing ourselves out of our known but BORING comfort zones and move through our fears of whatever IS KEEPING US STUCK and going for the growth.

Past life regression therapy is an exceptionally useful tool in helping excavate, understand the origins, get the lessons and release what is keeping us karmically bound.

Studies have shown that some of the happiest people on the planet are in places of poverty like Nepal and India, because they innately know that happiness is an inside job based on contentment in the moment with what is—just the way it is. This doesn’t preclude us getting a vote towards manifesting what we desire and taking action towards our dreams.

But, Neptune, in its undeveloped state, whines: “If only, it’s not fair, they promised”, and uses levels of addiction—from mood altering substances to distracting ourselves from being present through overusing the TV, computer, shopping, etc—to keep us buffered from the reality of what is and immobilized within our stultifying ruts.

In closing, a reality check is coming, courtesy of Saturn—whether we want it to or not. Consequently, it’s far better if we’re proactive in allowing our perceptions to stop being filtered through the screen of “woulda shoulda coulda”—and accept what we do have power over changing. This begins with an attitude adjustment of gratitude for what is and letting go of the suffering we carry from past choices, broken delusional promises and karma unfolding.

The optimal vehicle for contentment is when we step into our power by embracing the Now with things just as they are—within each moment–without distraction. Then, we’re centered and stable enough internally to gather our forces to take action to align our destiny with our highest potential—while maintaining peace of mind with what is—a day at a time.

We’re all at exactly where we need to be at and are with who we need to be with—in any moment—to get the lessons we’re here to get. But once we get those lessons and remember to maintain them, we can move to the next level of the game. If we don’t choose to move, we’re not only harming ourselves in the short run but also ultimately incurring karmic consequences.

Think about it this way: We can go for the clean sharp growing pain of change or choose to stay trapped within a comfort zone with increasingly diminishing returns. This creates ongoing low-grade chronic suffering which adds up, over time, to more pain than just going for the “burn” here and now.

Hitting bottom in an area where we’re painfully stuck can certainly inspire us to want to change. But, since all bottoms have infinite karmic trap-doors, here’s to hoping that acting on our desire for change will be sooner rather than later!
