Job Interview Questions

When you are going for that all important job interview, it is very important that you come prepared. That means that you get there on time and that you look neat and well groomed. But that is only the tip of the iceberg mind you and one other way that you can make sure that you get the job is by practicing some interview questions at home.

These questions are pretty standard and not all of them will be asked of you but rest assured once more that several of them will pop up at one point or another. One example of such a question is the simple and yet utterly tricky “can you tell me about yourself”? The reason why this question is so tough to answer is that most people do not really know where to start and where to end.

After all, it is not every day that you are given leave to talk about yourself right? But take note that that interviewer is not your friend and she is not interested in hearing you talk about your dogs or your favourite color unless of course you are trying to get a job at an animal grooming center in which case, that is perfectly ok. But for more corporate environments, keep your answer close to the job that you want so that you do not end up rambling and talking about things that are irrelevant. Nothing is worse than a person who rambles on and on and on and yet does not really get to the point. If you do this, you may as well kiss your chances of getting that job good bye.

There are other questions out there that you should know and another one is “what do you know about the company”? again this is one that is easily answered if you do research.
