We all know people who always want more. They wonder why they didn’t get the promotion. They wonder why they didn’t get special recognition. They wonder why they don’t have the bigger house, the better cars, and the best of everything.

It is so easy to think of all the things we don’t have. With technology, it is so easy to see all the things we don’t have and all the things others have. If we are not careful, we can begin to covet what others have and become so obsessed that we lose focus on what we do have.

If we stop and think about it, God gives us just what we need when we need it. We get just the right amount at the time it is needed. God doesn’t give it to us too early or too late. He doesn’t give us too much or too little. He knows what we can handle and allows us what we need.

Exodus 16:18 “But when they measured it out, everyone had just enough. Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little had enough. Each family had just what it needed.”

We need to be sure we take care of the things and use the things we have as God wants us to. If we are keeping things to ourselves and not using what God gives us for His glory, God knows we really don’t need any extra. However, if we take what we have, be grateful for it and use it for God, we will begin to see it grow as He sees fit.

We need to be sure we don’t get anxious about what we have and don’t have. While we are waiting on God to provide us with what we need, we need to spend time doing His will for us. When we are busy doing for God, we will spend less time worrying and trying to fix things ourselves.

When we spend time worrying about why we don’t have enough, we are doubting God. When we spend time worrying about when we are going to get what we need, we are trying to rush God. When we spend time worrying about where it is going to come from, we are not allowing Him to be our Provider. However, when we leave it all to God, we can use our minds for the things God wants us to think about.

We have to remember daily God gives us just enough when we need it. When the feelings of anxiety about a problem begin to creep in our minds, we need to give it to God at that moment. We need to go to Him in prayer and read His word. We can find comfort in His words. We can find peace knowing He will handle things. Then we can focus on how He would rather us spend our thoughts and our time and make a difference.

Philippians 4:6-7 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
