When in love, it is automatic to give ourselves wholly. It feels like: “Take all of me and my wall painting collections if that means keeping our love alive!” It is true that very seldom reason functions when you are caught by love unguarded.

No matter how your mental prowess would like to work in excellence, it falters and before you knew it, you are giving up your whole for one person to take. And when this peak of being in love dies down, you look at the pieces shattered and realize they can’t be sewn together once again. Even in marriage, we say “better half” a completion of your whole but never your whole. Yet why most of the time, we feel that the other one is the entirety of ourselves, and this is because maybe we have given so much. We don’t speak of material things. We speak of our inner selves.—our personal goals, our own interest, our very own fulfilment. These should never leave us individually. Friends and family can be regained after being a part of someone for some time because just like themselves when in a relationship, they prioritize the current relationship they are in. But the hardest one to recover when relationship with someone falters is ourselves. Right after the state of being in love and when emotion becomes stable, there we realize how much we lost while such state of happiness, is as usual, temporary. Yet one cannot deny that one glows and blooms for such period of time, as well. It felt like you had injected yourselves an overdose of Glutathione combined with other anti-oxidants. It feels like you can strike a pose for wall painting. It felt like you have saved millions for parlor, salon, spa, and dermaclinic. But after that sometime, you realize that it was all in your thoughts and if the whole self was given too much, you woke up one day devastated. Yet the funny truth is :if you would have that moment again, you would not mind such devastation to recur. It is the parody of the state of loving and giving ourselves too much too someone.

It is true that when in love, sanity should be intact. Sanity includes responsibilities, the dreams, the goal, and everything else that we cannot just ignore when we are in our normal state. Given that being in love is not a day-to-day occurrence, the state where we are in during that short period of time is unusual--- not normal. Although it is easier said than done, we still need to keep the totality of ourselves intact, no matter how hard it is. It might be difficult because happiness cannot be put in the backseat just as that when it enters our lives unexpectedly. What are the functions of the rest when our reason cannot even recognize their presence only because love is in the air! But then again, it is temporary and our emotion should be controlled to allow reason to do its job. Allow reality to set in that there are other subjects of Asian art and not just you who once felt levitated when in love.

The idea of making yourself more desirable by making yourself less available doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it. After all, Juliet would have plunged a premature dagger into the heart of her romance with Romeo if she hid in her room rather than go out on her balcony. The end of Sleepless in Seattle shifts from "awww" to "aw, no" if one of the two main characters skips the trip to the Empire State Building. As these examples from fiction show, making yourself
