We are a big family. Our house is quite large to accommodate us all. We have many young members in the family and they are extremely active in the way they go around the house. Letting the children stay put is almost next to impossible. They have so much energy they have to let it out. The moment you let your guard down and take your eyes off of them, they would be running around again - laughing and playing.

Observing my children reminds me of my childhood days. I was always full of energy, exploring myself around the house, climbing up in the attic or even on our rooftop. Those were the happy days of me being a kid and I got to share it with my brothers, sisters, cousins and friends.

Back then, our house was already a three storey building. If you look at every side of the house, there were always windows. My dad wanted a house that can easily have access to air and light. You can find windows on each of the floor levels of the house. We had sliding glasses for our windows. So, every time we opened the windows, it was always opened wide and anyone could fit into it if they wanted, even the size of a full-grown man.

My father was a planner. He was the type of person who always anticipates every scenario that may happen within the house. Window safety bars were placed on every window in the house, that is just one of the safeguard measures that my father took care of when the house was put up.

Falling out of the window is a common accident happening in houses that usually have more than one floor or for those who live in many floors up like in an apartment or condominium. The victims are usually the children. A small kid falling from a ground-level window can still result to death. Because of this concerning alarm for window falls, some States had put it into legislation to have safety bars placed on every window of every home. An example of this state is New York City.

Window safety bars are a great way to protect everybody from accidentally falling out of the window, may it be a child or an elderly. Today, with a family of my own we still live in the same house. Kudos to my dad for ensuring that our family is well secured. Window falls are not anymore a risk concern for me since the house is already window fall-proof, thanks to the window safety bars.
