There are so many different types of bounces or inflatables today. They have grown hugely in popularity as the variety and fun has developed and improved. You can still get your house or castle that is a huge success at any children's birthday party, or village fair. But there is so much more you can do with inflatables than just bounce. Stand on podiums and bash each other gladiator style, compete in simple to complex obstacle courses, bounce up to fantastic feats in basketball, run around in inflatable balls, ride a bull on a bull EZ matt. But whatever kind you have, at whatever event you are running, there are some important things to consider to make sure everyone using those inflatables is safe. Here are some key points to remember.

Make sure it is supervised well

From more hands-on sports and battle dome arena to the bouncy castle, the inflatable must be supervised at all times. The person supervising should be aware of the rules to using the inflatable, and be a responsible adult. This is even more important when there is a lot of physical and hands-on activity. Accidents happen when supervision is gone.

Keep to the rules!

The rules of use that suit your inflatable will be given to you by whoever you rent off or buy from, but there are some obvious ones such as;

  • No sharp objects on people that is what causes rip and tears
  • No rough play
  • No full somersaults
  • Shoes off
  • No adults if it is a children-only inflatable
  • No food and drink
  • No kicking

Have the rules printed where they can be read too.

Keep groups to the same age

It is always safest to have groups of children on the inflatable or in the dome arena of the same age. Big kids can accidentally hurt smaller kids, and smaller children can get easily bumped, jumped on or stomped on. You minimize injuries and tears when you let a group of 6 to 8 years olds play together, then let on the 14 to 16-year-olds after. Have something going on close by to keep the group waiting entertained while they are waiting.

Adults should only go in if it is an inflatable designed for all ages

It has been mentioned but it is important so it is worth saying again. Adults should only go on inflatables that are suitable for adults. It is also not a great idea to let on adults who are hugely intoxicated. They are likely to vomit, or forget to take their keys from their pockets, or get too rowdy or listen to the rules! If it is a mix of children and adults using it, again have the adults in a group of their own, not on with the children. If you have an inflatable that is not suited for adults but they try to get on, find some distraction for them too! You could always have something for the kids and then the bull ez matt along with a mechanical bull hire, for the adventurous adults!
