Electric cars may have been introduced more than a century ago, but they have become very popular today as more people and governments search for energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly vehicles on their streets. Navigant Research reported that more than three percent of new vehicle sales of electric vehicles could increase to almost seven percent (6.6 million per year) worldwide by 2020. But are they safe?

If you think about the harmful emissions from conventional vehicles, electric vehicles are also much safer in that regard. This is because they do not emit toxic carbon gases or smoke. Electricity is a clean source of energy, so by driving an EV you could contribute to a healthier environment and community.

Most people are also ignoring the fact that natural fossil fuel is not easy to make. It takes nature millions of years to create oil but it takes men only thousands of years to consume it all. The production of oil can't keep up with men's consumption especially with this generation's dependent use of fossil fuels. It is as if people didn't give importance to nature's effort in creating this gift. Besides, turning fossil fuel into something that you can use to power machines and vehicles takes up a lot of energy as well. Certainly not very cost-efficient.
