Electric cars may have been introduced more than a century ago, but they have become very popular today as more people and governments search for energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly vehicles on their streets. The modern electric car can be fully electric, a plug-in hybrid, or a hybrid, and demand continues to rise as prices drop and stylish models come out. Navigant Research reported that more than three percent of new vehicle sales of electric vehicles could increase to almost seven percent (6.6 million per year) worldwide by 2020. But are they safe?
An electric car can be cause for concern due to a small number of fire-related incidents, but despite this, it is much safer against fires than gasoline-powered vehicles. The number of gasoline-related fires is also much higher than electric car fires. The National Fire Protection Association revealed that there are 150,000 gasoline car fires each year, while it is only estimated that only five electric car fires are known for three years. Electric car batteries are not intrinsically explosive, unlike gasoline, the tanks of which are like fuel pumps that can explode under the right conditions.
If you think about the harmful emissions from conventional vehicles, electric vehicles are also much safer in that regard. This is because they do not emit toxic carbon gases or smoke. Electricity is a clean source of energy, so by driving an EV you could contribute to a healthier environment and community.
Driving an electric car is also safer. Manufacturers are particular with the testing procedures and materials they use when building and designing each car. In addition, vehicles are equipped with airbags and a function that cuts off the battery's electricity supply in the event of an accident.
Most people are also ignoring the fact that natural fossil fuel is not easy to make. It takes nature millions of years to create oil but it takes men only thousands of years to consume it all. The production of oil can't keep up with men's consumption especially with this generation's dependent use of fossil fuels. It is as if people didn't give importance to nature's effort in creating this gift. Besides, turning fossil fuel into something that you can use to power machines and vehicles takes up a lot of energy as well. Certainly not very cost-efficient.
To ensure that this demand is met adequately, the current Ladestationen Elektroauto (Electric car charging stations) are being rigorously tested and monitored for performance and efficiency. It's important to remember that, unlike gasoline, and electric charge takes a great deal of time to build up. And an all-electric vehicle has a pretty sizable battery to fill, with a range of up to 340 miles on a single charge.
One of the reasons for the increasing popularity of electric cars is the government. By purchasing an EV, you can be qualified to receive government subsidies because you are showing that you are environmentally conscious. It could also contribute to the efforts of the local community to reduce air pollution. Newer electric car models are low-maintenance, cost-effective, and quieter, and as Ladestationen Elektroauto (electric car charging stations) become increasingly accessible to the public, sales are expected to increase further in a few years.
