A Blog Tour is when you virtually visit blogs over a specified period of time to promote your goods or services. It is a technique to generate "an online buzz" about your book or product, if done correctly. To use this PR 2.0 strategy, incorporate the following steps into your marketing mix.

Step 1- Create Marketing Materials that contain the marketing message about your book, product or service (e.g., an interview, book review, a series of articles, write a guest posts, etc.).

Step 2- Build Partnerships with those who serve your target market and have good traffic. Keep the lines of communication open when scheduling.

Step 3- Organize Your Visits by personally scheduling it or hiring a coordinator to do it. It's easier to organize the onine event when your material is prepared in advanced.

Step 4- Comment at Your Hosts' Blog to engage the audience and show appreciation for having you.

Step 5-Promote Your "Stops" by posting a tour calendar with links on your blog/website and through social media outlets on every stop. Announce it to your network of friends and colleagues on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
