"Let's Do This"

"If there's a hell below we all gonna go". Lyrics composed and added to a melody backed with a very rhythmic bass line. The type of musical track that creeps into one's consciousness whenever the song is considered. Curtis Mayfield was the prolific composer.

When I think of this tune in relations to the state of the minds of todays youth. Tomorrows leaders, I get a 'lil chilly at the realities of what is to come. These children who will soon be adults haven't a clue as to life and how to enjoy it. It appears that many cannot think without the immediate assistance of some form of technology surrounding them. They cease to function if they find themselves without various types of electronics connected to their person. And... I must stress I didn't say won't think, I said "cannot think". Who is to blame? Can it be the fault of the child? Is it the parent (s) or that village that is 'pose to assist in raising that child?

6 of this, half a dozen of that. Regardless of the mix used to define the equation it won't change the balance. Meaning the out come. The former to the latter, equates to be the same. The solutions to our national situation is to move into a pro-active state and provide "ours" with the substance that this great nation should have been founded on.

Everything that has validity has a standard in which to refer to in order to know what is anticipated. These children have no understanding of what the standard is or should be. Nor are they aware of discipline. Another dynamic that is needed to achieve any form of success.

"Success", we all seek it and everybody speaks of having it to one degree or another. But what is success when the foundation in which to build upon is non-existent? Such as the future for our "Next Generations".

If there is a hell below we are only placing "ours" in line for the next departing transport to such a place. Computer technology is great, but like many things. Moderation should be considered. This society is one of anti-social beings. And for those who assume that our children are shy. Shyness is not indicative of anti-social behavior. Shyness is a result of the fear of something. Anti-social behavior based on where I'm comin' from is the result of not wanting to engage another because it will only interfer with the time needed towards cruising the computer screen. Don't believe me? Well try this. Next time you see any kid glued to his or her computer screen, attempt to engage 'em in a 'lil dialogue. Um hummm, your dialogue quickly will turn into a monologe with the child giving you those eyes that say... Stay away. Stay far away and let me play.

Today's adults are so pre-programmed in having it their way, until they have forgotten to established a method to assit the child in finding their way. I speak with a cadence and use words that express my exact feelings. If by what I've state placed you in a defensive mode, consider this.
